hi all, im fairly new to all this case modding stuff, but I usually find the best way to learn is to jump into the deep end.

Because of that I have started to draw some plans to build a 'Weighted companion cube' case ala Portal.

My basic plan is to build a cube out of acrylic, spray paint it silver/grey leaving a cross for pink lights to flow through. I will also hide my case fans under the (slightly elevated) disks with the heart on, and on the bottom of the case.

All this is still in the planning stage, my one major problem is what do I make the details on the edges out of?

As you can see from this http://forums.gametrailers.com/showthread.php?t=199138 the cube has shapes on each corner and I cant think or what to use for these... any ideas people?

Foam's not a bad idea. Cheap, easy to shape and can be used as a mold to fiberglass over.

This mod is going places.

I like the foam idea. My new plan is to make each corner piece out of three parts, so a mold would be the best way to keep everything the same size I feel/shape I think.

I will try working out a plan on sketchup and get some working diagrams going. This is my first full case build so it will take a good long while, hopefully the final result will be presentable.

I think the corners should be foam with something like poleyester or cotton over them... Foam doesn't normally get a clean look when it's finished... That's just from what I have seen though. Looks like a fun mod!!
