Oi, now that I'm getting all hyped about the ATI HD3870 and new nvidia 8800GTS 512MB, I'm already hearing about the nvidia G100! Yeah thats right, we just saw the G92 and they're already finishing the G100. Though we haven't gotten any useful specs yet, we've been hearing about the ATI R700.
Also on a closer upcoming view, ATI will be releasing the R680, which will essentially be a dual-core version of the R670. That oughta be interesting.
Just to let you know before I continue:
I understand there is no info yet, but it is fun/interesting to speculate.
What kinda of features do you think will be on the G100 and R700? Everyone knows those will both have displayport and will run on low manufacturing processes (65nm or lower), but what else do you think will come with these cards? I am wondering how these will perform compared to the current gen cards (8800 GTX, 8800GT, HD2900XT).
Besides all that, I am very conflicted right now: I need a nice new card for Crysis and about a million other games coming out really soon. However, all of the really nice cards are coming out the first quarter of next year. I was considering just going the nvidia way and using evga's step-up program but I'm worried the nice cards (that I was talking about above) won't come out within 90 days of this card.
