Maybe it's partially due to all of the solder fumes, but I'm happy now. Like 2 days ago, the microphone on my headset stopped working. I noticed a small cut near the plug, so I cut it and soldered it. That didn't fix it. I was thinking I'd just buy a new headset. So then I tore open the little part that hd the volume control and mute switch. I noticed some frayed wires. So I decided to just completely cut off that part and solder all of the wires into one solid line. At first, it didn't seem like it was going to work. But then I finished it all, hooked it up, and it works! The first thing I heard through it after that was the song "Don't Stop me Now", which I love, and it made me feel better.
This thing had LOUD capabilities now though. With no volume control, I had to turn the overall volume for everything down by like half on the computer.
