This might be completely crazy but.....
I have a TRS-80 model 4 case that I want to use as a case mod.
The only problem I foresee is the built-in monitor...
I had a 13" monitor I planned to use but it died while waiting in the basement...
I DO have an old laptop.

Is it possible to use the laptops screen as a monitor for this baby???

BTW, did I mention there were ZERO funds available for this mod? :)

Thanks Folks!!!!

If zero funds, then no. Unless the laptop is running..

LCD's require controller cards, and pretty much all laptops use their own controllers which are hardwired to (or are part of) the motherboard. A custom controller card is hella expensive ($250+), so it's really not worth it.

Your best bet (if the laptop is running) is to sell it and put the cash towards an actual LCD monitor (which has it's own controller in it, and can be much more easily adapted into your case), OR... put the whole laptop into the case and run some sort of VLC program on it.

There was a post about this awhile back... do a search for laptop LCD, and you'll find tons of resources for it. :)
