This has to be fake... how could that possibly be done?

I doubt it's a fake. Liveforspeed has a lot of outputs for even moving platforms, I'm sure if you looks hard enough, you'll see outputs for speeds, revs, and turbo. As for how it's done, I have a few idea..... but I don't think those gauges are straight from a car, maybe from a volt or ammeter....

It's not fake. The rev drop on gear change up is too well synched for a fake.
:)
ps infact you can see the onscreen "dials" in the vid ... perfectly synched.

After a bit of inspections, I do believe those are servo motors!
EDIT: CONFIRMED!
Now , with a full app on development, that supports up to 6 servos and HD44780 lcd fully configurable.
Currently on development...

All I can say is Phidgets (http://http://www.phidgets.com/) and some know how and this is definitely possible.

that, in combo with the g25 is just insanely cool. i would made the gauges look a bit better though. hell maybe even get a body of a car and mod it all in.

What I was thinking too... mold it to the wheel frame. it'd be a pretty bad ass mod.

I guess he could maybe be reading it out of the memory somehow or maybe someone wrote a plugin for the game.

LMAO! SOOO TRUE! I played it the other day for 5 minutes and said "screw this..." I take it you were on the 3rd training course? haha. Try driving on a normal track... maybe it was the car I picked but it was damn near impossible to keep it under control :dead:

If you know LFS, you know it's got a lot of outputs for the game for simulators and such like.

It's a very good idea but I have my doubts about the use of it :P If you use manual shift, you'll go with the sounds (at least I do). It is useless anyway ifyou drive automatic.
But who cares! It looks very good:D

Okay. If I somehow get some big cash, I'm going to get a G25 and find out how he made those gauges(if he's not making them professionally in modded g25's by then) and live for speed. Going to be so soooo awesome.
I want.
