Basically I really want to build a computer that is still a normal tower but is more portable, so i can bring it to lan party and the like. The bad news for me is that i just bought a laptop so my parental units would not like the idea of me spending more money... also i would just mod my current desktop, but i just cant stand the though of that. now with all that said, i might just buy a case and do the mod pending a time when i have the cash to add components (or get some sponsorship). so without further ado, here are the renders of the idea im working with:

this is just a rough of the case, the words would be cut out of the case and have plexi behind them.

this is the other side of the case, it would be a striped lcd (that gray rectangle) and a fold down platform with a keyboard (the thing below the screen).

the color scheme im thinking of is a blue/purple thing with all the led's changed to match. i would also use a wireless mouse. thoughts? suggestions? ideas? i would love to hear them.

ps. the theme is supposed to be mellow because it's easy to get worked up at lan party's ;o (thus the soothing colors and the zen theme). also, that is a handle on top for carrying it around.

Welcome to the forums s133p!

Blender :D?

Renders look good, but I think more lights would help show the features of the case more. Then, we'll be able to give more suggestions.

ok. really that this point the render is more of a sketch (the size and whatnot was just free handed). also, yeah, blender indeed :P

also, i forgot to mention that im a total newbie to this stuff so, yeah, just keep that in mind.

edit: this is the type of case that would be perfect:

It looks like this case WOULD work pretty well for you, however I think you could find a better one. Or maybe build from scratch... Although if you are looking to stay as cheap as possible, this may not be an option...

Good Idea... I like the renders!

I would love to build a case from scratch, unfortunately i have neither the time or the skill (or for that matter the money) but yeah, im pretty sure i can find somthing just as good for cheaper

Better than a Lian-Li? You'll be hard pressed to find one. Lian-Li is one of the top case manufacturers, and there have been many, many mods with them. They have top quality build, and great features. You'll be able to find cheaper cases, but they won't be nearly as good as that case.

It does look like a really good case. My only concern was the big shield at the top. I was just thinking that it might get in the way of modding... Sure you can take it out, but why not get a cheaper case that doesn't have it to begin with? Unless you really like that case that is...

no, im not dead set on this case but its this type of design that i think would be perfect. also i want to save as much money as possible for the innards and the plexi/tools.
