I'm not sure what I'm lookin' at here. Is a list of items from certain stores that will be going on sale? It confuses me because if you click the link to the item, it's at normal price.

Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving, it's called Black Friday because it is believed to be the first time all year that retailers finally make it into the black ( making a profit ).
Most stores have outrageous sales that may last all day or doorbuster sales that last only for a couple of hours.
Most stores open at 5am or 6am for these sales and it is not unusual to see people camping out from midnight with coffee and sale paper in hand.

Normally these sales papers come out on Thursday so there's a mad rush to read through all the papers and compare sales, to make sure you know where you want to be at 5am.

In the last few years, several online sites have gotten a peek at the ads and posted them well in advance (like these) so you know ahead of time.
Some shops make them take down their ads or they will sue... (WalMart and Office Max this year) which makes you think they are going to have even better deals...

But yeay, that 900 is coming home with me too!

It's not all that lucky. I know people who go to these things and its more like work. You can't just walk into the store and grab something. In order to get any of these deals you LITERALLY have to camp out way early or you don't get zilch.

Honesly, Id rather pay the extra $50 difference in the price of the item and buy it at normal price than sit out all night in the bitter cold, only to have no guarantee that you will even get the item.

Most of those great deals are what they call "Doorbusters". So only say the first 20 people get them. So you HAVE to be the first of 20 people or whatever at the door. Which == all night.

Not worth the headaches in my opinion. And honestly alot of the sales are either only a few bucks off something nice, or a decent chunck off something overpriced to begin with. Just my opinion though, so take it as you will.

Not really. 1 Gig of RAM and Vista is full of fail imo.

Staples has a similar lappy. And from what I can tell, neither store is willing to 'downgrade' to XP.

Although, $350 for a Core2Duo is a screaming price by itself...wipe the HD and put Ubuntu on it...now we're talking!

Is it just me, or did Wally World's ad seem like a disappointment this year?

as far as I saw black friday pretty much sucked this year. Only thing I saw worthwhile was like a full hd 42" lcd at sears for like 800, but Im in the market for a plasma or crt.
