Well my TV antenna metal stciky up things are broken and my reception is REALLY **** now. Is there a way to make a new antenna using the base?

EDIT: I just forced open the base and its only to wires going into the metal so this should be easy.

Rabbit ears antennas are so cheap you should be able to pick one up for next to nothing.

Indeed, infact I have a really nice set collecting dust in the parts box. As long as you don't live too far away you can have them. They are light so shipping should be small.

I had this problem once upon a tme and this solution works MUCH better than rabbit ears.

Find yourself a big old slogan pin... you know the kind, one of those big oversized things that the kids put on their backpacks. It doesn't matter what it says cuz yer gonna take it apart.

Pop the front off and you'll be left with a circle of wire and the actual pin part that went through your lapel (or wherever you had it).

Bend the pin at an angle and stick this into the hole in your coax jack. This tiny little bit of wire and pin will actually be a pretty good antenna in it's own right but if you want more power, simply strip some wire, tie one end to the pin and put the other end up in the air somewhere, (string it up to your curtain rod, for example).

Ta-daaaa !
