Ive never really had a need for any of these types of programs really, but if you download "Everest" or most of the other programs like it, it should tell you what mobo you have along with many other things.

I know everest will tell you, least it used to.

Or you could look at the mobo. A lot of manafacturers have serial numbers or something of the like on the motherboard itself. From what ive seen it is often in bold letters and somewhere near the pci slots/southbridge area. Just take those letters/numbers and google it and it should tell you what mobo you have.

Hope that helps

Noname Mobo don't really exist. In stock PC you have probably a gygabyte, Asus or MSI board
Now go look and find the ref number

open your case peel of the stick that dell/gateway/sony/etc put over the serial/original name and done.

ALL mobo's have some name or serial printed on the board...

CPU-Z will tell you all you need to know. and i assume you want to know if you can oc anything with that board and since its a prebuilt, most likely you will not be able to, at least the proper way.

when you oc anything you oc the mobo as a result. i forget where i read/watched but when you increase the fsb for your motherboard you make the motherboard send data back and forth faster therefore oc'ing it as well.

anyway i have downloaded the following to help me OC and monitor carious things;

CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) - use this to check your motherboard brand and model number, also tells you your cpu speed and pretty much all you need to know.
GPU-Z (http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) - to check out all the stuff about your video card
ATI tool (http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/) (can do nvidia cards as well) - i use this to oc the video card and monitor temps
SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) - monitor temps, though its not right its keeps me roughly in the know
CoreTemp (http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/) - tells me the exact temp of the core
Nvidia Ntune (http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility.html) - adjust my fans

Because your computer is a prebuilt (who is it prebuilt by?) it will most likely not overclock the proper way. what i mean is the options in bios will be disabled and you would have to use software to change it which isn't as stable or reliable. having just said that i just thought maybe you could update the bios, if out of date, then it might unlock some features, but i'm not sure.
