video card plz help

i need a very cheap video card so i can run oblivion

128MB Direct3D-compatible DirectX 9.0-compatible video card

How cheap is very cheap? AGP or PCI express? Here's a card (Radeon x1950 Pro) (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3012667&CatId=1560) for $160 that I have had great luck with...depending on the rest of your system, it runs Oblivion very nice

haven't tried oblivion but i can run crysis all medium at 1024x768 with 30-40 FPS.
i can run all the HL2 games on high with 60fps or so.

if there was a demo for oblivion i would try it and tell you how my card handles it. if royken see's this thread i can get a bit more fps then what he can. i know he plays the game so hopefully he will see this. my card cost me 130CDN and it's 119.99 at newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130091).

When i mean cheap i mean cheap. The cheapest card that has those specs.

how cheap can you go, you want to play oblivion on it.

to add another note to my card i just played bioshock on full settings (not DX10) at 1024x768 and the fps never went below 30, the only time it dropped below that was during cut scenes and at that it never hurt the playability one bit.


don't go with the cheapest thing you can find, it may be nice to get it working but it will bit you in the ass later on. i wasted 50 on a dam 7200GT just to get my pc going and regret doing so. i should have bought this card from the get go.
