After we treatend it with the grinder. The finish will be better , don't worry!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%203/HPIM1497.jpg

UPDATE 6
Hi there! I've won some fans with a competition.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%206/HPIM1609Custom.jpg
Noctua's! I'm going to use the 120mm. In total there are comming 7 of them in the case. I really love those things.
Next step was the begining of some interesting on the right-side of the case. Most cases are just plain at that side and I don't like that. So i came up with something. Later on wil it be clear what these are.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%206/HPIM1610.jpg
6 little MDF pieces.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%206/HPIM1611.jpg
Next is the HD-suspension.

That's ugly as ****! So I scrapped that and came up with a verry simple idea which will be shown later on.
K.I.S.
Keep it simple ;)
Let's have a look at that TFT! It's opened with a special bit. Luckely I have some.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%206/HPIM1521Custom.jpg
Aha! The 5 volt line.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%206/HPIM1522Custom.jpg
Next up is the mobotray. It's verry sharp now. First I sanded it down but it's not perfect yet. So I took some wiring, cut it by half en presto.

Finally some interesting stuff! The plates have arrived. Let's see.
2 big parcel's. One with ''garbage'' on it which are some scrappieches. Always handy ;) Going to use them for some accents.

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%207/HPIM1627.jpg
It's starting to look like something.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%207/HPIM1628.jpg
It's a mirror! Not ;)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%207/HPIM1629.jpg

Against the frame.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%208/HPIM1638.jpg
Looks a bit odd, right? Well I haven't finished them yet.

This is the shape it will be.

In the mean time I recieved a parcel!

What's inside?
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%208/HPIM1642.jpg
Noctua!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%208/HPIM1643.jpg
Together with the other 2.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%208/HPIM1644.jpg
And here they are wating for use.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%208/HPIM1645.jpg
There all Noctua NF S-12-800 fans. The whole thing is going to run without fans but they are handy for those hot summerdays and it just looks better with fans on a radiator. Actually there are comming 2 radiators in this case :D A 360 ánd a 480! More in the next post :)

Here we go again.
First some good tools. Nice saws for ALu and corners for the frame.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1646.jpg
Also bouht some wheels. Not the most pretiest but they were cheap and you won't see them in the end.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1647.jpg
The beginning of the 5.25'' bays. I make them out of some scrap ALu.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1648.jpg
Sawed
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1649.jpg
Drawing.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1650.jpg
Cutted.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1651.jpg
Without the plates.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1677.jpg
With plates. Don't worry about the scratches! Later on the thing will be sanded down. But it's not perfect, is it? So alter on I did them again.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1676.jpg
Next up were those wheels. First I had to find out where they came.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1652.jpg
On the corners. How original ;) Drwaing, but it went wrong. Luckely I finded out on time.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1653.jpg
Done. It lies on the top of the case.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1675Custom.jpg
Because the wheels are about 2.5 cm high you'll get a gap of 2.5cm unter the case which isn't pretty. So I came up with something. I'm going to lower the case. Pimp my case!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1657.jpg
Drawing

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1659.jpg
How it comes. The plate were the wheels are going to be attached to is a few cm higher than the plate which forms the bottem (sorry for crappy explenation)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1660.jpg
Toen moesten die plaatjes vast in het hoofdframe. Dus die moest ook op de operatietafel.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1663.jpg
Next up: The sidepanels! First I had to mark them.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1670Custom.jpg
Both sides.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%209/HPIM1671Custom.jpg
Done. Needs stil a bit of sanding.

Update 9
I began working on the sidepanel. First I had to made a little piece which helps me to make a nice circle. I haven't got a passer which can create a circle of 60cm ;)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2010/HPIM1688.jpg
This is the shape :D The thing in the middle is my sign for this case. It doesn't mean anything but I like it. Designed it myself.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2010/HPIM1691.jpg
Tape off the sides which prevents scratches.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2010/HPIM1692.jpg
Takes a while to saw.

UPDATE 11
On the other fora were all those plates together an update so I have to jump to number 11 to get it alligned again.
This will be the airflow from the case. Red = HD's. There is only room for 5 but okay. Green are fans and blue = radiator.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t260/Demission/Airflow.jpg
Made a little helppiece again for some nice circle's.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t260/Demission/HPIM1737.jpg

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t260/Demission/HPIM1751.jpg
A little step further. But in the end I didn't like that thing so it's removed.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t260/Demission/HPIM1749.jpg
Next up: Some sanding. Not to much though.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t260/Demission/HPIM1748.jpg
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t260/Demission/HPIM1747.jpg
After a time of sanding.
Kinda brushed ;) Not the finished result though. The whole thing is going to be powdercoated so it all will be sanded down with water.

Well a bit late but I was on holiday so sorry for that. It's also a small one because I had to sand en fill a lot which takes a lot of time.
Both Frames together.

And now you now the shape. This is an old design of the case. Some things changed and some things are improved but you'll get the ''feeling'' ;)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/LinksCustom.jpg
The arows on the top have been changed. I also made an original fanguard which will be shown later (even the Dutch guys don't know yet what it is). The other side of the case is even more interesting. But more on that later. The logo which you can see through the window on those 5.25'' coverplates is also removed.
Next Update: Some real work :)

UPDATE 14
I've done a lot of platework but it isn't worth a picture. The proces: You'll take a plate, screw it on, mark it, treat it, screw it on again and you repeat that proces until every plate fits. Time-consuming work ;)
Luckely there are some things worth of taking a picture. This is the top.

UPDATE 15
Not so exciting because I was ill. So I just did what I could.
I had to extend all the cabels from my PSU in my other mod which I didn't like. So that had to be different this time. I made an extension cable. But then you need a male-molex and I didn't have one. So I got my dremel and cut it off an old CD-drive.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2015/HPIM1835.jpg
Then I needed cables. An old PSU with a sticker: ''AMD K7 en Intel P4'' 125 watt.

Well, finally something what you like! I Hope at least ;) Let start.
I needed somehting which coners that nasty need on the back where the panel goes around (?) the moboplate. The things in the inside are for the PSU.

Without.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2016/HPIM1866.jpg
With. It's better don't you think? There will be an illuminated 6mm plexie strip under it so you get the net setup:
-ALu plate which will be polist
-Illuminated plexie
-Case
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2016/HPIM1865.jpg
Next up was some plexie. I had laying around some pieces.

In the garage I found even more.

Rougly done. But I decided to buy one piece so it's a little neater in the end.

Remember that these are old sketches. The plan has changed a bit so I won't explain completely what my intention is. Of course I will explain it later on.
Why all this fuss you may think? Because I'm always frustrated when beautifull mods don't have a modded right-panel. Or at least the panel were the window isn't. I think this is a lot better than a standard panel ;)

The residu from one plate after sanding. This was needed to let the plate fit the frame well. I made all the plates 2mm too big so I could correct small things later. That's what I did on that moment.

UPDATE 22
Finally an update. It took me a while but I'll promise I'll go on the next couple of days.
I didn't get why the frame dind't fit very well. So I went looking:
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2022/HPIM2112.jpg
I used a scrap-part for support. Never good.
Next were the 5.25'' bays. I needed a plate here.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2022/HPIM2113.jpg
Not bad :)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2022/HPIM2114.jpg
Suddenly it looks better.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2022/HPIM2116.jpg
At the back will be a few switches and power for the pump.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/1-4.jpg
Made a plate for it.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/HPIM2118.jpg
Bussy with rebuilding the innerframe. There were a lot of old holes in it so I made a new one.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/HPIM2119.jpg
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/HPIM2120.jpg
Next up was the front.

Not bad again.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/HPIM2130.jpg
Next up were some holes for fan-mounting. But I dind't had a good mal (mole?) so I adjusted an old fan for the new purpose ;)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/HPIM2132.jpg

Welcome to TBCS!!!! I saw your project on GOT, thank you for posting it here for us to view as well! We'll certainly enjoy watching you build it.
This is the type of stuff we love to see here at TBCS. Complete custom fabrication. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks guys! Glad you like it. I'm still very busy with it. Can assure you there will be some nice features. That's also the reason why it is so big. Mainly because it houses a 480 (4x12cm) radiator. At this moment I can cool it passive with that thing.
More in the next couple of days!

Next was removing all the old tubing.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2023/HPIM2223.jpg
Done. the green tube is still old because I ran out of tubing. Doesn't matter.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2023/HPIM2226.jpg
Next up were the leds.

Although it is quite bright, it isn't overdone. Only the case lit up and that's what I want. With CCFL's you dont need other lamps anymore in your room. Also, the shiny ALu reflects a lot. I can assure you it is a lot more subtile when it is all black.
Next up was construction again. Some plates are good, others aren't. I replaced some bad plates because I want a good case.

UPDATE 24
Here we go again. Still a lot of ALu-work but I'm getting closer to plexie-work. Then it will be interesting!
First I made a fanguard for the top. I wanted it to be original so after a couple of crazy brainwaves I came up with this.

On top :)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2024/HPIM2272.jpg
I had to make it all a bit more flat. I did this with a rbber hamer and some train-tracks!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2024/HPIM2276.jpg
Next up: A big plate which will be some sort of back-plate.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2024/HPIM2277.jpg
Disaster strikes! The fake-Dremel molted :(
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2024/HPIM2278.jpg
A bit hard to see but the cooling-fan just melted to one big clomp of plastic!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2024/HPIM2279.jpg

LEDs look great mate, if you want them to disperse more light and make a more even glow just give the tops of the LEDs a quick sand with some sand paper.

I'm using more kinds of LEDs. I use for the lighting some 35 degreas LEDs. Also for the UV. But I will use 120 degreas LEDs later on with the plexie. They spread the light a lot so I don't have to sand them then. But thanks for the tip ;)

Those logos look so bad ass. Great work mate. Just a quick question, how much air do those Noctua fans push?
TEAMIKKE
12-04-2007, 10:56 AM
I can't give you numbers but it isn't that much. I've had some Coolermaster Silent LED fans, which are quite familiar I quess. The Noctua's move less air than them. But you can definetely feel air flowing.
They are great for watercooling because you don't need much passing through. Also for silent air coolers and casefans but your temp. will properly be higher then.
I really love them because they are dead-silent. Only the price is a shame ;)

lol 8) Thank you!
There will be no radgrillz. They aren't made for this rad. And they aren't very original. I made my one.
About the pump: There will be 2  Actually, there will be 2 loops.
Loop 1: Laing DDC-1T pump, 480GTX, CPU, GPU and mobo blcoks + home made reservoir.
Loop 2: Laing DDC-1T pump, 360 rad., Mem, VRM's and more + home made reservoir.
So there you have it! I hope you understand why the case is so big: There will be loads of big components! I can ensure you, the whole case will be filled to the top.
Thanks for the +rep!

Awesome amount of cooling power mate. Should keep everything near ambient lol (with fans turned on). I would recommend the smaller rad have fans on permanently just in case, you wouldn't notice they were on anyway.

Some fans on is always good for the airflow. It's better for some mobo-components and the HD's although they'll also function without it. And you're right: There's no difference in noice-levels with those Noctua's on or off.
But every modder hates it to switch the fans on and of, right? Leaning over to the case, do the job and lean back takes at least 5 seconds from our time!
So I came up with something for that:rolleyes: More tomorrow!

I also recommend you permanently have a fan on the HDD. I am running my comp outside of the case on my desk and to start off I didn't have a fan on my HDD. I touched it once and it burnt my finger lol after that I have kept a fan on it and it runs cool as a cucumber. The HDD is one of those things that CAN be passively cooled but a fan will give you a less chance of HDD failure and data loss.

neither as said but why do you want to know, if I may ask? No problem off course ;)
About the HD's: They are cooled but not with a fan. I've designed the case is such a wat that they are cooled by the case itself. So the metal takes the heat away. That's why they aren't getting hot even without fans.

UPDATE 29
Here we go again! A nice big update to satisfie you all out there ;) I founded out that it's going to take a lot of time to treat all the plexi well and solder the more than 200 leds!
First supllies!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2478.jpg
Graphic LCD
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2476.jpg
It doesn't work yet because some wires came lose during the transporting. But I'll fix that at the end.
Plexiwork! To create some depth in the case, am I using more ''layers'' of plexie and ALu. So I made a big logo for on the window.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2474.jpg
Result. It rained when I was cutting so you see some rain ;)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2477.jpg
Then some shiny stuff! Why do I use this and don't polish the whole stuff?
-This is far more lighter. I'm using 2 mm ALu. It becomes a sandwich of 2mm ALu + 5mm plexie + 2 mm ALu which would result in a 9mm thick panel! A bit overdone.
-This is far more less work.
-It gives me the same effect.
-It's replecable. When there will be some scratches on it, I can just remove it and put some new stuff one it.
-You've got everywhere the same result.
The bad side:
-It's expensive
-It's hard to get right
-It's hard to photograve ;)
Altough the die-hard modders maybe would go for polishing, will there also be a lot of them who think: Hey! That isn't as bad as it sounds! At least, I hope you do ;)
Just begin.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2479.jpg
With the protective firm still on it. This will be removed with case-assembly.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2480.jpg
Then some leds!
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2481.jpg
Results! :)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2482.jpg

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2487.jpg
The leds are even so bright that they shine trough the firm! I've got a solution for that though.
Next I made a mock up for the front. But dind't made any pics from the results ;)
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2473.jpg

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2492.jpg
I just skip some photo's because I think you'll al know how I treatend it ;) So here I'm bussy with leds again.

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k208/TEAMIKKE/Demission%20Update%2029/HPIM2497.jpg

Maybe you should think about running them in groups thru potentiometers. That way you could control the brightness..
