ooh ooh! Can I do it? Can I, Can I?

Today I ate a toasted ham sandwich with a glass of milk. It was delicious. =D

lol Just joking around. It actually snowed a good five inches this morning. I'm not sure if its late, early or on time, but I'm still excited and bummed out at the same time. Snow is fun, but not always. Especially since I live on a mountain with the steepest, curviest drive way I have ever known. It makes a freaking awesome sledding run though, even if you do crash half way down no matter how hard you try to make the corner. Slow down? Yea right. lol

I threw the first snowball of the season earlier this morning too. ^_^

It's been decent here lately, but I tellya, middle of the summer, you do anything you can to avoid going outside from noon-3pm, so as to avoid the 110-120 temps.

Or, driving on the freeway on a 2-lan narrow windy road, cliffs on both sides, and having a fog roll in thats so dense you cant see past the hood of the car.

No issues here, but lack of snow up in Tahoe. I really am jonesin' for some superpipe action. I found out last night my Birthday present is going to be new boots and bindings and a trip to Tahoe (if any of the resorts are open by then...).

All I can say here is welcome to Oklahoma.. High Today 77 -- Low 46. Now there is a 30% chance we will get snow by Friday. There is a saying around here.. "If you don't like the weather, stick around it will change" :D

It's uncomfortably warm for this time of year... then again, I'm used to the cold winters of Nebraska instead of the tropical climate of eastern NC, lol. It's like 70 here. Crazy.

It's probably around 40F outside right now, which is just perfect to huddle around with a smoke and bitch to friends about the weather.

I don't mind the cold so much, only problem is I wore a sweater to work today and since the place I work at is full of complainers, someone went up front and said they wanted the heat turned up. Now it's gotta be around 75F in here.

Current temp in Great Falls, MT of 18, expected to get below 0 tonight due to no cloud cover.

It's not too bad right now. It's in the 20's, and a little more than a dusting of snow. No matter what happens though, I can't use closed roads as an excuse to miss work. My ID badge has the words "emergency weather responder" on the back.

Okay, I'm a little sad right now. So, living on a mountain can have its perks, such as lots and LOTS of snow. We had a miniature blizzard that lasted about a day, I was stoked. Lots of snow means lots of fun in the snow, even more than usual since theres LOTS of it! Yay! ...except, in the same day, we just happened to have wind storm later that evening. But thats okay, because it was still snowing at the same time too. So even more snow! Sweet! ...except that even later that very same evening, it decided to rain. and rain. and rain some more. and then some even more, just to rub it in my face. Did it stop there? No, it rained some more even after that. For two days it rained. Guess what happened to all of that snow? Yep, its gone. Only a few itty bitty piles where it was piled up from plowing the driveway. :(

Guess what? ITS STILL FREAKING RAINING TOO! Its the middle of friggen winter, why the heck is it raining? Especially after a miniature blizzard!

lol I hate Northern Idaho/Washington! It can snow, become very windy, rain, become sunny, hail, hail WHILE BEING sunny, etc etc. ...ALL IN ONE DAY! Well at least we don't have tornadoes or earthquakes or anything like that.

/end of rant

Well its cold here (Eau Claire) its 0 degrees. At least we have snow and that makes it all the better. I love snow! Makes me feel cheerful for the holiday season. =D :santa: Any ways yea we have like 12inchs of snow on the ground in the last week or so.

12-08-2007, 03:05 PM
Ya its been snowing here in Framingham, MA. A few inches here and there. Enough to make me not want to drive in it. The SRT4 doesn't like the snow. But 250hp to the wheels is much better than the 350ish it had the first year. Much more manageable now in the snow, so I guess I can't complain.

An Ice storm has hit us here in Oklahoma pretty hard. We are with out power and heat. Our 2007 Magnum is under a tree. :( I wont be able to see how badly its damaged until I can get a chainsaw and cut it out. The same tree that took the car out, also ripped the power lines from the house to the pole out, of course when it ripped the power lines out it took our breaker box with it. So even if they get the power restored we still will have to have an electrician come out and repair that before we can get hooked backup. They have brought in 3000 electrical crews in from Arkansas and surrounding areas to help get the grids backup. There are 250,000 houses without power and they are estimating that it will be Dec 18th before they can get most of them back up and running. We tried to get a hotel room but unfortunately there are no rooms available for a 75 mile radius around Tulsa, so we are toughing it out in the house. Luckily our stove is gas, so we crank up the burners, and been boiling water, so the kitchen stays bearable, and at night we just all huddle up in one room under 4 or 5 blankets and sleeping bags. I guess we take for granted alot of things in our modern life, not even 100 years ago, all the things that we are with out really didn't even exist, and they survived, so I guess the important things is everyone in my family is safe, healthy, and we are all together.

After 3 weeks of -30'C it has warmed up to -14'C. Time to break out the shorts and T-shirts. YaHoo !!!! :D

What really irks me is that the remote starter on the van stopped working just as the cold snap started.

at least yours worked... lol. my remote start on my wife's car sucks. it starts the car but instantly shuts off. not very useful... and it does this 3 times so its kinda annoying. tried changing all the settings i could think of... and still nothing. gonna probably have to take it to a professional.

anyways... not too bad here now... was -7 degrees F yesterday though. whoo cold.

Speaking of ice storms, we've recently had a lot of massive hail (like the size of netballs) for the past 2 or 3 weeks. Bit weird seeing as it's the middle of summer, but it's been pouring down with rain. Hopefully it clears up soon though, the beach is waiting!

Geography is freaking weird! lol

middle of summer over there, middle of winter over here...

California is running the AC, Washington is overclocking their heaters...

so weird, so very weird.

Btw, my area is COVERED in snow and it looks like its going to stick around for longer than a week this time. So happy! =D

I know this isnt recent weather, but a couple of months ago at a mountain bike trip the bottom of the mountain was like "alright, it's nippy, but lets do some serious riding" and the top was "aww crap do I have to get out of the gondolla?".

Ice Storm... sucks...
YES THEY DO!! They are expensive as well!! As you know from my previous post, we got hit pretty hard. The amount of devastation to the trees in my area is unbelievable. Also it hit us all in the wallet pretty hard. Power to my house was out for 8 and a half days. I was finally able to get a 5550 watt generator after 4 days, so there went 500 bucks, but I will be ready next time for sure! :). Having the generator helped out alot, but I still went through about 45 gallons of gas, before power was restored, which was around $125. We got the Magnum out from under the tree, and to my surprise its not damaged as bad as we thought it would be. The limb hit a basketball goal beside the drive way and folded it over. The rim of the goal went into the rear drivers side door of the car, which ended up holding the rest of the limb off the car. It put a pretty good dent in the door, but luckily it hit between the door handle and the window, so it didn't break the glass. Another limb sheared the rear window wiper off, but the roof isn't dented at all. Its covered under insurance, so it will be good as new, but it will still cost me the $500 deductible. We still don't have cable service back to the area, so we have been catching up on our DVD's. Telephone service never went down, and under generator power I was able to get my DSL modem and WiFi router up. Unfortunately I was too busy clearing limbs, getting Gas and Food to really do more then check my email, but I let my neighbors use it with their laptops. :)

Looks like I won't be able to upgrade my machine anytime soon, but the important part is everyone in my family came out of it unscathed, and we were together.
