So who braved the elements?

I stood in line at Target for an hour and a half in sub 0 weather (thank God for Thinsulate!) and snagged not one but 2(!) 22" LCD widescreens. $167 a piece, and yes, there will be a review up after a few days of use.

Then the Mrs and I decided that we needed a smaller kitchen table...and a PS2 of all things!

Safe to say that we're done buying 'our' gifts this year. In fact, all we got left to buy for is our respective parents, and that's going to be easy this year.

Wow what a great price, don't blame you at all getting the 2 of them. Hope the stand in the cold proves to be well worth the wait.

The sad thing is that you could have gotten the same items for ~$20 more about a week from now, without the insanity. =p

My dad works at a Best Buy, he's taught me all the tricks ;)

I know how you feel. I just bought my girlfriend a $250 (after the 40% off) necklace and a digital camera. She picked them out and said choose one or the other but she deserves both. She dosent like me to spend my money but she needs the camera and really wanted the necklace. Its a good thing they were on sale.

EDIT- all for Christmas of course

Update: The PS2 went back to Shopko. My wife's boss upgraded to a PS3 this morning, so he sold us his for $65. So I dropped another $100 on RAM. :D

My gaming machine can now run Vista. Will I let it though? Hell no! I'm gonna wait till SP2 comes out, as I'm hoping that the stability issues with the 64 bit version will be ironed out.

so good it had to be said twice, eh?

As far as I know, there's nothing like that happening here in gloomy old England.
But, I could be wrong.

Is it just me, or do people spend way too much time and money buying gifts instead of spending more time with friends and family these days?

Nah! Now give me my Xbox360 already! I know, I know. I still haven't got one. I'm too cheap to spend money on games and any of the related and everyone I know is too poor to buy anything over fifty dollars. Aside from my best friend, who decided that he wanted to spend fifty some dollars for one thousand WoW gold. He also pays for my account, because he doesn't like playing alone and I don't like coughing up the little money I have on video games. It kind of works out somehow. lol

Tok'Ra Alliance FTW. /shameful WoW Guild Plug ;-p

I opened a letter this morning and £80 ~ $160 of gift vouchers for Marks and Spencer fell out. Early Christmas present from the Stock Exchange. :)

ps I don't do shopping generally.

If you guys have at least a L70 among you, farming 1k gold is easy. Farm primals in Nagrand, Shadowmoon and Netherstorm.

Or you can do like I do (granted you have a paladin) and farm UD Start solo.

Buying gold is ftl in my book.

Wow, 10k? Thats a freaking ton of money! I get about 1k from inheritance when I turn 21. Funny thing is, my gran and paps we're the only rich people in my entire family. So why only 1k if they were rich? Well, I have a very big family tree, so it got spread around so much to the point where we only get about a grand. Which is still nice, so I'm looking forward to that next year. It'll help pay for a car at least, maybe a place to rent if I use it wisely.

on another note, one of my old friends got about 25k from inheritance. He spent like 15k of it on musical stuff and on a sound room. That guy is going to be famous one of these days, and I'll be the first to get his autograph. :p

haha, get his autograph before he's famous and it will be worth even more!

i believe the total was 400k or so after everything was said and done. 5 kids and 11 grandchildren. parents got 50k and grand kids got 8750, i know the numbers don't add up but thats what i was told. since i can't get it until 21 then it got invested and it will be about 10k. i figure i will finish off my pc if i haven't yet max 2000. i will look at getting a car and the rest will stay invested.

So now I have a place to put my feet under my computer desk again. $400 extra plus a fat dell paycheck?? I think not. My car messsed up,the wife did some shopping that I didnt now about and then I had to spend what extra cash i had stuck back for a DS to go half way across the damn state to see her family.
