neither, there both junk, don't waste your money on kits, unless there from swiftech since they use there good parts that they normally sell separately but just put the in a kit.

if i HAD(as in gun to my head) to go with one i would take the thermaltake, even though the rads suck (because they have round tubes instead of flat) it has more total rad they the vantec one. 4 blocks on a single 120mm is way to much heat for it.

if you just going to water cool your cpu then i would get this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108075) one for a single or dual core and this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108076) for a quad. accept that the block isn't the best for quads, Dtek fusion and Swiftech GTX are the best blocks for quads.

what video card and cpu? if its not a quad then just add this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108077) to the second kit i link in my first post. just in case here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108076) it is again.

EDIT: video cards?? then i would just build a custom kit using swiftech parts, EK, or DD.
EDIT2: here is a screen shot of what i plan to buy once i get my quad core and 8800Ultra.

if you don't have a quad core then you could go with the apogee GT (http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/2470/watercoolingbt6.th.jpg) and save 20 bucks.

The only good kits are the ones that have everything seperate i.e no pumps on water blocks etc.

All in one kits from Thermaltake (or equivalent) are for people to say "Oh look I have water cooling and you don't" but honestly the cooling is only slightly better than a stock cooler (well the Thermaltake kits anyway).

I agree with Spawn, If I had a gun to my head I would get the Thermaltake kit due to it having more radiator space plus you can add any other Thermaltake water kit/accessory with ease. I actually considered getting that kit before I started my current build, Then I decided to have a look at the Danger Den stuff and when I found out they had a retailer in Australia I was sold. In then end I spend about $350-400AUD more than the Thermaltake kit and ended up getting no Danger Den parts apart from a reservoir, fill port and MAG II LE pump lol.

TB4oz: I was just going to point that out. Even though Swiftech is a great brand, that "kit" royally sucks butt. Never go all-in-one when it comes to water cooling.

If its not custom, then it better be Danger Den, if its not that, then it better be one of the non all-in-one Swiftech kits, and if its that, then you better get it on Newegg, because Newegg is god. :p

As for the "if I HAD to choose"... yea, the gun to the head remark makes sense. Because you would be much better off with a good air cooler, which would also be cheaper, maybe even much cheaper, especially in the long run. So there really is no "if I HAD to choose" here, unless someone was literally making you choose.

I did say that the Swiftech all in one is crap, I just posted a link just in case he hadn't seen it before. Although, it probably is the best all in one kit out there, that doesn't disguise the fact that is is still crap.

Well thanks but i decited to go with Air Cooling seeing that i am on a money budget, and liquid cooling seems to be out of it

Ya liquid cooling can be expensive. I have the Swiftech Apex Ultra as posted above and it is a great kit. I also have the MCW30 chipset block for my Northbridge. Fluidxp blood red coolant and I needed more tubing for my case so I went with the Danger Den tubing because that is what they had at microcenter when I was there. Its a little thicker than what was with the Swiftech kit but not too noticable.


The Swiftech Ultra is a good kit. Cooled my e6300 all the way up to 3.7Ghz. My memory just couldn't take it so Im at 3.325Ghz for the last 3 months. Works Awesome and have no current regrets going with the swiftech kit. I priced out what I wanted separate and it was right around the same price so i just went with the Ultra kit.
