Hey everyone, im new here (as you can probably see) and im lookingto get myself a new PC in the next month, the old AMD xp2800+ and mx440 64mb card have lasted me an honest 5 years and finally decided to upgrade lololol

I bought myself a wee bar fridge on the weekend from my work for NZ$120. I had been thinking to painting it to make it look different, which is kinda how i stumbled accross this site. Today i was thinking that i could save space by having the pc sitting on top of the fridge as i still hav about 18cm there. So i guess id nee to look for one of the horizonal desktop cases. Then i thought how about fitting a cut down fridge door on the front of it so it looks the same. ill take a picture in a second and try do a bit of a photochop to show my idea. Eager to hear your opinions.

Barn.

Welcome aboard. So, if I understand correctly, you want to put the computer inside the fridge? That's actually been debated to some length here regarding condensation.

Here's a link to the thread. I hope it helps!

looks cool, haha i love saying that!

i believe most fridges use the sides for the condenser so as long as the top doesn't heat up during its cycle then i say go for it! there should be enough room for the video card and maybe a thermalright ultra 90.

I was just thinking that i can go to my mates sheet metal business in town and have him make up a "shell" of the same width, and of a height that will let it just fit under the desk, and then just use any PC case and slide it in from the rear. That way i can use most cases without modifucation. of course it would have cooling vents in there aswell.

why not make a custom pc case, go find a junk case for the back part where the video cards and other cards screw to, can't think of it's name and get a motherboard tray or make your own. then just pop in it the shell you want made.

I think it's a great idea! I like the sound of this case...
