I'm looking to speak with someone, and you know who you are. You're that guy/gal who buys every damned video game you can afford and beats it in 2 days max. You may have even arrived at Electronics Boutique early on release day more than once. You are a gaming expert, you know the tricks, the plots, the codes, and you've played them all. You actually read gaming magazines (hidden cleverly behind you history textbook). You like games so much you wouldn't mind just sitting around and talking nothing but gaming. Are you the one I'm looking for?

Doesn't this belong down in the video game section ?

...just like your battlefield 2 thread awhile ago that you said you were gonna move on 10/29...

...just sayin'...

The battlefield 2 addition is in the early stages of progress but we are working on many things at once. It is happening though. As for "Doesn't this bleong in the video game section?" hmmmm....not really, I'm not looking to talk about video games, I'm looking for a person who likes video games. Fine line, I know, but bear with me.

I like videogames, I just don't own TONS of 'em.

I like to game a lot. Really depends on what you're looking for. If you can play it usually I'll try it out.

That'd probably be me... sadly... except a lot of games I never finish because they usually get repetitive pretty quickly.

I used to be this way. And with a PS2 in the household, I might become this way once again.

However, my tastes usually stay put in two genres it seems: football games and MMOs. And you really can't 'beat' either of those genres, although I did manage to collect every powerup card in Madden 2004 in the span of about 2 months.

I have been known to play the occasional FPS; in fact, Wolf-3D was one of the first PC games I owned.

So am I your guy? Possibly.

heh i eat sleep and breathe FPS games
dont have all too many at the moment... nor do i have a system that can handle it heh
( if anybody wants to find me a DX 10 256Mb AGP vid card i can prolly do a lil better heh)
but if ya need a hardcore gamer lemme know heh
(most games in under 24Hrs max)

I don't own TONS of games either, but I may be able to help. I have quite a few games and play them whenever I have some time.

Are you the one I'm looking for?
I think so. Let's see...

You're that guy/gal who buys every damned video game you can afford and beats it in 2 days max
Only if I can afford it and it's good. I also don't finish it in 2 days. I take my time and enjoy it.

You may have even arrived at Electronics Boutique early on release day more than once
Will midnight launch for Halo 3 (Legendary Edition btw) count? (I also bugged the guy at Gametraders for a couple of days when Assassin's Creed was delayed by a week)

You are a gaming expert, you know the tricks, the plots, the codes, and you've played them all

Tricks/Tips: All the useful ones
Plots: Yeah, I reckon
Codes: Cheating is for wimps!

You actually read gaming magazines (hidden cleverly behind you history textbook)
I read Hyper (Australian general games mag covering all systems), PCPowerPlay (Australian PC gaming mag) and the occasional Xbox 360 mag.

You like games so much you wouldn't mind just sitting around and talking nothing but gaming
Absolutely!

Are you the one I'm looking for?
You tell me.

Also, starting next year I am taking a 3 year university course in games development and design.

So, am I fanatical enough?:D

(Also, can I ask what you need help with?)

We're getting pretty close to the insane level of devotion to gaming that I am looking for, I'll hit a couple of you up with info soon.

How's This Jon;? (boy this will out me...)

Battlefield series? All of them from 1942 to 2142 including add ons and bonus packs.
COD? All of them except COD4 (hoping for a nice xmas present) including bonus/addons.
MOH? All of them including bonus/addons.
NFS? Most of them (90%)
Half Life? All of them except the "Orange Box" (soon).
Hitman series? All of them. Waiting for the movie...
Splinter Cell? All of them. Sam Fisher Tattoo in the works...
Unreal Tournament? Most.
Doom? All of them. I have the goosebumps to prove it. (have the original ported onto IRIX on my sgi O2)
Motocross Madness? Both, (release #3 already!)
Comanche? Still play it online from time to time.
Quake? All but the last 2.
Duke Nukem? All.
Wing Commander? Yes, yes and yes.

Not into mmorpg's. Played Oblivion most the way through before getting bored. Finished Guild Wars (the first) and got bored. Not touched it since. Completed the Diablo series and felt cheated out of my time.

Never even seen WOW except in magazines. Not interested in playing a game you pay for then pay for every month. The only service I ever paid for was back in the day when there was NO online gaming community _except_ for Sierra Online and I paid to play Red Baron. Once AT&T took over it went to hell and everyone left. Now you can get that game free.

Been through dozens of keyboards and mice as well as torture testing countless joysticks (had my own rep at CH). I can tell how long an input device will last me just by holding it in my hands. I have the joystick radar so advanced I can spot the trash from the end of the aisle. Substandard mice hide as I walk by and head phones scream to me to test them. My office chair is only comfortable to me as it matches my butt print perfectly!

It sounds like I have spent a lot of time playing when in reality it is just my age showing....

Anyone want to buy some games? (hehe JK, I know the rules).

Well... I am sort of a game freak

I played oblivion for 126 hours before deciding it was enough (not all at once, but total). I have played it about 3 times since then and have beat the expansions. I beat Crysis in 3 days and am in the process of doing it again on delta. I beat Assassins creed in 2 days, played half life 2 a dozen and a half times (ok maybe 9 total) and have beaten the expansions for it. Ive beat fear, doom 3, hitman 1 2 and 3 (etc. all of the old but goodies). Not much of a MMO fan but I did play battlefield 2 FOREVER. lol . It was mostly on un ranked so Im sure I could add 70 hours to the total of that. Oh well, thats enough... for now...I think?

ya i'm the same way, its so annoying that i never finish games, i do finish a couple of gmaes but mostly i never get them finished.

i'm a slave to tv, i have i think at one time spend 1 hour and 30 minutes just flipping channels! me and my cousin watch an entire info commercial laughing at all the stupidness.

i get hyped up about playing a game then as soon as i turn on the tv, 2 hours passes. then once i finaly get into the game, its time for stupid bed (yes set by me, not my mom haha just thought i would point that out:)).

haha, what I was thinking too. Maybe even recorded group reviews via teamspeak or somethin'.

You never really notice how much time/money you spend on gaming until you take a look at your games...

Meh thats a small list, i have literally ~100 nes games in my basement, i cant remember the original price of the games, but lets say it was $30, then thats $3,000. Ps1 games i have about 75, 50ish n64, 20 gamecube, 5 wii, 50 ps2, and a TON of old floppy disk games, lol lemmings :D

Im still upset my dad sold our atari for like $20 with 30 games and then the buyer had the nerve to call him back up and tell him it wasnt what he expected.(the atari and everything were fine, the guy was just a jackass)

Here's one for ya, I got the sudden idea to find a classic game and have been playing now for about 2 weeks. TradeWars 2002. Anybody who played games on BBSs and thought connecting to those at a 2400 baud rate was cool back in the day.

True gamers dont use xfire, it reminds them of how much time you've wasted and the more important fact is, it be stealin mai megahurtz. D:

(ive made that statement on another forum and got into a flame war, but when i said it last time, I was more seriousnessded.)
