I'm helping out a friend. Here's her problem:

She has an Acer laptop with Windows Vista on it. She bought Neverwinter Nights 2, and loaded everything up fine. It installed everything without any problems until she tried to play it. When she opened the play window, after a minute a box would come up and say that DirectX3D wasn't installed and that the program would be closed. When she checked the files on the disc, it didn't say anything about DirectX3D, and the box didn't indicate that she needed it to play. How can she get DirectX3D? Oh, and she doesn't have internet. Or Is there any other way of playing?

I'm not sure what DirectX3D is, but do a Google search and if you find a way to install it, download the driver, burn it to a CD, and install it and then see if it works.

DirectX3D (aka DirectX) is a graphics library used by many Windows games. You'll need it to play the game. You can download it, put it on a disc, and then install it. It should have come on the disk for the game, but... Just Google "DirectX", go to the Microsoft page, and download and burn. Simple as that.

This is assuming that her laptop can run the game in the first place.
