Dave (4:05:42 PM): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115410
Dave (4:05:58 PM): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115412
BlackS3ven (4:09:13 PM): that 2nd one LOOKS cheap in my opinion
Dave (4:09:31 PM): yea but its not
Dave (4:10:05 PM): the second one is 15.4"
Dave (4:10:07 PM): it's the GS
Dave (4:10:09 PM): the other one is the G
Dave (4:10:11 PM): the 17"
Dave (4:10:22 PM): the GS is hd dvd rom and smaller resolution
Dave (4:10:30 PM): no hd dvd on the G but higher resolution
Dave (4:10:32 PM): same card
Dave (4:10:38 PM): just diff resolutions
Dave (4:10:49 PM): the 17" amd x2 is better
Dave (4:10:50 PM): 1.9
Dave (4:10:54 PM): opposed to 1.5
Dave (4:10:58 PM): and has 2gb
Dave (4:11:00 PM): but
Dave (4:11:08 PM): the smaller GS has 250 gb
BlackS3ven (4:17:38 PM): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834280007
BlackS3ven (4:17:45 PM): super good video card
BlackS3ven (4:18:45 PM): And everex's are pretty nice... I've had one
BlackS3ven (4:19:06 PM): their customer service kicks ass
Dave (4:19:23 PM): yea but
Dave (4:19:39 PM): small hd
Dave (4:19:46 PM): 1gb ram only
BlackS3ven (4:19:55 PM): 120gb is small? lol
Dave (4:20:08 PM): **** yeah
Dave (4:20:14 PM): are you kidding me that **** is tiny nowadays
BlackS3ven (4:20:40 PM): for a laptop that's pretty sweet
BlackS3ven (4:20:43 PM): but ok, 1 sec
BlackS3ven (4:20:46 PM): I'll keep looking
Dave (4:20:49 PM): the other one is sexier
Dave (4:21:11 PM): the little one is on youtube
BlackS3ven (4:21:24 PM): just sayin, almost a class 1 video card in a laptop
BlackS3ven (4:21:25 PM): lol
Dave (4:23:41 PM): OMG
Dave (4:23:49 PM): 65" 1080p tv
Dave (4:23:54 PM): 1599
Dave (4:23:57 PM): wow
BlackS3ven (4:25:31 PM): Iono, I'd rather buy something that has a nice video card because gpu's aren't as flexible as they are in desktops
BlackS3ven (4:25:40 PM): hdd's are cheap now a days
BlackS3ven (4:25:48 PM): and take 5 minutes to swap out
BlackS3ven (4:25:57 PM): once u get a laptop with a ehhhh video card
BlackS3ven (4:26:00 PM): ur stuck with it
Dave (4:26:35 PM): uh
Dave (4:26:41 PM): it has the same memory
Dave (4:26:46 PM): as that everex
Dave (4:26:53 PM): and 130 more gigs
Dave (4:26:56 PM): plus a gig more ram
Dave (4:27:01 PM): so id rather have that
BlackS3ven (4:27:18 PM): well, it's ur laptop haha
BlackS3ven (4:27:31 PM): I'm just sayin, ram and hdd's are cheap
Dave (4:27:42 PM): it has the same specs tho
Dave (4:27:47 PM): 256 dedicated
BlackS3ven (4:27:48 PM): compared to having to upgrade the entire laptop
BlackS3ven (4:28:09 PM): waaay better performance though outta the 8600
BlackS3ven (4:28:14 PM): as opposed to the 8400
BlackS3ven (4:29:53 PM): actually 2x the performance
BlackS3ven (4:29:55 PM): in scores
BlackS3ven (4:30:04 PM): 3DMark06: min. 1266, avg: 1456, max: 1645
BlackS3ven (4:30:07 PM): = the 8400
BlackS3ven (4:30:16 PM): 3DMark06: 2743 points
BlackS3ven (4:30:20 PM): =the 8600
BlackS3ven (4:30:55 PM): but if not gunna be gaming then the other 1 for sure
Dave (4:36:03 PM): frys has 2gb laptop memory
Dave (4:36:04 PM): ddr
Dave (4:36:07 PM): for like 50 bucks
BlackS3ven (4:36:32 PM): probably 533 though
BlackS3ven (4:36:43 PM): only ddr?
BlackS3ven (4:36:44 PM): **** that
BlackS3ven (4:36:45 PM): lol
BlackS3ven (4:38:00 PM): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208323
BlackS3ven (4:41:15 PM): iono my .02.... Pretty big investment. I'd rather buy a more futureproof video card since you can't upgrade them
BlackS3ven (4:41:22 PM): ram- 40 bucks
BlackS3ven (4:41:33 PM): for ddr2 5300
BlackS3ven (4:44:10 PM): iono if u take ur laptop places but if you needed more space, either an external / another 2.5"
BlackS3ven (4:44:12 PM): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136139
BlackS3ven (4:44:24 PM): external 2.5" 250gb for 150 bucks
BlackS3ven (4:44:52 PM): u could buy that, swap the hdd's then have ur 250 internal and a 120 external
BlackS3ven (4:45:29 PM): so 200 dollars later, you'd have a laptop WAYYY better than the other one but you'd be able to buy it all at ur own time
BlackS3ven (4:45:35 PM): there... I'm done bitchen
BlackS3ven (4:45:36 PM): hahaha

Then why do they ask?

Good question.

About that thread with the video card... (for some reason it's bothering me, lol) I did take everyone's advice into account. I just figured that ATi card is better than an 8600, BUT I'm gonna keep looking.

personaly when i advise someone on some thing for there pc and they goahead and totaly ignore that advice i usually ignore their plea for help when it dosent work out right. i figure thats a fair deal. when people give advice its usually to prevent them from haveing to go sort out the mess later anyways. so they advise something that they know will work. its unfair to be expected to pick up the peices afterwords because someone ignored the advice they asked for. unless of course your being paid. then its another story
