Gun Case Case Mod

lol, it's no typo i actually meant to say Case twice. This idea i thought of, provably isnt original as somebody else must have thought of it before me. it's provably buried with threads by now. So i'm hoping i can inspire one of you people that do amazing jobs modding.

Like tittle says, a computer "case" that resembles a gun "case".... i got a friend in the marines and he was telling me of some rifles/guns he had to use before. i stumbled across a pic of a gun's carring case and got me thinking.....

computer case with an overall look like....

instead of the average clear side window that shows the computer guts, the side window will show something like...

nice big gun surrounded by foam...

i'm gonna drop by the army surplus shop to see if they have any nice bulky and yet small carrying case. pick up a replica air gun from a hobby shop, seen some as cheap as 40 bucks. foam from JoAnnes or other crafts store....

Great idea, but I'd be a bit worried about cooling, especially if you are going to air cool. Foam is a great insulator.

Agreed with DrumThumper. I would suggest (if possible) to get a case like the first picture, hollow out the bottom of it for the PC and try to lay the gun and accessories like the second picture. Might be more work, but would probably provide better air flow and in return run cooler.

Also, dont try to travel with it. LAN Parties probably wouldnt be a good idea, unless it's an obviously fake gun. :D

well, i wouldnt make the entire inside of the case foam....... just a thin layer to make it look like a gun case.......

most of you guys would do a liquid cooling setup anyways.....

I wouldn't do liquid cooling because of the cost... won't argue a good liquid cooling setup, just to much for me. Even that 2nd picture looks like it would be too thin to have it look like a case and hold a pc in it. IMO I would go with the 1st picture and make it look like the second one. You will have more room to work with and more options for cooling and physical layout. Again just my opinion.
