New member here, looks like a pretty neat community so thought I'd say hello.

Name's Zack, currently a 2nd year engineering student at University of Illinois at Chicago.

Currently run:
Q6600 (watercooled)
EVGA 680i
7800GTX
2GB DDR2 6400
74GB raptor system drive, 2x320's in RAID0 storage drives
Westinghouse 24"
Klipsch 2.1's and Turtle Beach 5.1 headset

Looking into a bit of an upgrade for the GFX and memory. Thoughts on the 8800GT?

Also I've been looking for a large (I'm talking extended ATX size) full-tower case with a top-mount radiator spot. Any recommendations? (never even seen one but I want one ;))

I like the Cooler Master Stacker (831 I think, the big aluminium one with the mesh grills and it can hold 4 120mm case fans on the side) case a LOT. After I get paid (FRIDAY, I CAN NOT WAIT), I'm getting one.

I don't know about the 88xxGT, but I know the 88xxGTX is pretty awesome. The 88xxGT shouldn't be too far beneath that.

EDIT:

Also, Welcome to TBCS, enjoy your stay, behave, etc. ;)

welcome to the forums!

nice setup, even with the 7800gtx :), i would wait for the new 8800GTS's and see how they stack up. otherwise the 8800GT's are good, though there hard to find at good prices.

never seen a case with a spot for a internal top mounted rad either.
i do like these (http://www.mountainmods.com/computer-cases-c-21.html?osCsid=ec1j78tmuj6s554hd7au4cblo5) case's by mountainmods

i just found this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811125468), with some cutting it would work.

That's the case I'm talking about.

No specific rad mount area, however it has a top 120mm fan that you could bolt a rad to or it's got plenty of open space up there, and I assume you have a dremel. ;)

Well I guess I should have specified dual 120 radiator. But I'll have to look at that (my buddy's got one) to see if it's possible. My mod skills are none right now though.

Maybe I'll go practice on that chenming. :)

There's only one way to get good at modding. ;)

Keep this on the down-low, but I plan on re-starting my mod sometime in the future. ;) (People who have seen the original worklog will know what mod I'm talking about)

While browsing through one of the many subforums here I found this goodie: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119138

This might be perfect.

Welcome to the boards. I was going to suggest the Cosmos, but you beat me to it. :D
There are a couple of Worklogs over at Bit-Tech using the Cosmos.
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=139826
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=141308

Both are done by some really incredible modders. The worklogs might give you a better idea of how the case is put together, so you can make a more educated decision.

Also in both cases they top mounted their radiators.

So far all the cases presented are excellent choices.
