Scotty, they didn't test crysis on the 8800GTX :P

According to the crysis results from the tweaktown review, the 8800GTX beat the 512 8800GTS.... by only a little. Then you realise that the 8800GTX is actually factory overclocked ;)

Yes but they didnt test the 8800gts on dx10 mode... Unless this card doesnt support Dx10?

The card does support DX10.

The card does support DX10.

so then i guess to see real results they need tto be on the same system, each using eather dx10 or dx9

We will need to wait for the soft launch and some retailers get it and test it under official environments before we can know how well these will perform.

A friend of mine owns a store who is very tight with a certain company who got some 8800GTS 512, and he said that they were sub par (to the GTX) when said company brought them into the shop to run benches. I really hope he is wrong.

Can't find one, looks like the hosting was either pulled or he ran out of bandwidth.

Actually, I found an unboxing over here (http://en.expreview.com/?p=83#more-83)at Expreview.

At first I didn't like that strangely angled fan, but its starting to grow on me...

I wonder if the MCW60 fits on that... I guess I'll just have to try it out and hope for the best.

That's what I was thinking, but the 8800GT has the 7900 mounting setup, so no adapter plate was required...

The guy that runs EK says he thinks that the new GTS is the same as the GTs layout. But until he sees one he couldn't be sure, just what i read on another forum :)

From some of the first few reviews popping up:
One here (http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=708)
It looks like the GTS is only 5% better than the GT because of its memory bandwidth (same as the GT) IT has lower bandwidth than the model it's supposed to be succeeding, wtf nvidia?

Which makes me curious... which is more worth it? I've been jumping from GT to GTS and back again for a week, and I really can't decide.

depends how much it is i suppose. The GTS has much better stock cooling, but if you are going to watercool it then that doesn't matter.

I suppose I should just get the GT then. I can OC it, and it'll cost a lot less too.

And the GTS is here!

A little more expensive than thought though...

The eVGA is around 350, and that is ALL I care about.

Sexy looking card, comes with Crysis... gotta wait for those benchies and we shall see.

I'm now sort of glad I decided to go for a small upgrade than get a new graphics card.

Woot "stepping-up" from a 640 to a 512 :D

just wish the EVGA site would stop being a pain in the ass to load... Cause i need to get in the front of the line, otherwise ill be on backorder for a week or two like the gt people were.

The GTX still beats the new GTS at any resolution above 1600x1200. I intend to hook my PC up to a plasma anyway so this works for me lol.

3DMark 03,05 and 06.

GTS beats GTX in 06 but not by much. Read the conclusion.

Meh, I'm still getting a GT. Less power, less money, almost equal performance. I don't need 10 extra FPS, just a card that will max out my games (or close at least).
