Damn. That looks like a pretty damn good deal even if it is open box.

The one thing I don't understand is this

Its under specs. Does this come with the media box mentioned?

It takes all the inputs and sends them to the TV via one cable, to make it neat and tidy. I'm sure you could grab one off eBay though.

If anything you still need all the cables you regularly have, plus the all-in-one cable to go to the tv :P

but its meant to have all the clutter in a cabinet at the bottem instead of tons of wires hanging down from the tv. also makes it easier to add a wii/ps3/360 at any time, especially if wall mounted.

from the first couple of reviews on newegg though it sounds like there poorly made.

Sceptre makes some good stuff, I have had a 19inch LCD from them for 3 years and no complaints, other than crappy integrated speakers.

But I don't like the sound of that box thingy, sounds like proprietary bull-crud.

Well on top of the fact that they KNOW you have to buy a $600 box to get the lcd to work AT ALL.

Nice monitor but $1200+ shipping overall doesn't float my boat so much for an open box monitor. 600 I could deal with because its a nice monitor but not at 1200.
