I have an old case, maybe if i get the motivation ill mod up something with it, but the turbo button gave me an idea, to use it as a fan controller to controll the fans from say 5v to 12v (12v obviously being the turbo)

Sounds fun. I haven't seen a Turbo button in years on a case. The last computer I had with one even had the LCD display with the Mhz. (yes Mhz) but every time you turned on Turbo the LCD would blank out. Wrong jumper setting or something, to lazy to go in and move them around. +rep for the idea though.

haha. Cool idea. The computers in my school when i was younger had them. But made no differance at all the performance the computer was still a pile

Theres a turbo button on the back of my BFG 650 Watt PSU. Turns the fan from medium to high. Sounds kinda like what your trying to get at. I haven't ripped it apart to check it out though. Im one for keeping my warranties...sometimes it confuses me...

To mod... or not to mod... why oh why must the warranties make my choice difficult :p

The turbo idea makes me think of performance cars, so why not take it one step further and have a Nos switch (the missile toggle type) that powers the fans from 7v to 12v for a set period of time, like 30 seconds or something. Then you could have all the wires running into a Nos bottle mounted inside the case.

would work for a car themed case for sure, +rep for taking my idea and making it even cooler

i always used to get mad because i always had the turbo button but my old 486's never supported it lol
