So basically it does what suspension... should? =p
Still though, cool. It's a shame most cars these days have suspension that are too busy sucking to work right.

That is pretty awesome. I'd like that and the sliding doors on whatever car I get, lol... unless of course I buy a tank like I probably will have to so I can survive on the road.

I know huh! I mean, to think that this is "cool" technology is ridiculous. How long have we had cars now? Okay, now how long have we had computers? Yet, computers have come so much farther in that shorter amount of time.
I can't wait until this is standard technology for all new vehicles. I wonder how long it will be until then though?

But I wonder, if cars are like computers? I can't afford the latest and greatest pc right now, but in a couple years, I will be able to because the release of new technology makes older technology less expensive. Maybe we will create a less expensive but sturdier metal? Like pretend, that our cars are made of titanium right now, but tomorrow our cars will be made of a more abundant material that is easier to make than titanium or whatever.
Maybe in the future, we will all have sport like cars. Wouldn't that lower the price? Sport cars are worth more because they are more. But if they are no longer more, then it would be pretty much "this brand cost more than this brand, even though they are exactly the same. Your just paying for the name."

Everything has tech cycles, even cars. Look at classic Ford Model T's... they were little more than a park bench, a shell, some wheels and an engine. When a newer model came out, older ones got cheaper.
The real question is if this'll ever hit civilian markets as an OEM feature.. my money's on no. Companies usually don't give cars uber-suspensions to save some dosh and because most people won't need it.

Manufacturers have been trying to get active suspension into WRC for quite a while now but the FIA wont let them simply because the cost would drive out private teams.
Now considering that WRC cars currently cost about $1,000,000 the suspension would want to be costing a fairly substantial amount to make a dent in that figure.
But will we see this on road cars in the future? Undoubtedly yes.
People probably doubted traction control and ABS would ever get into the mainstream but look at cars now.

I've heard of companies dumbing down suspensions to save money. I mean hell, Ford won't put anything but roman suspension (read: leaf springs) on the mustang "sports car" because they don't think people would be willing to pay for the better suspensions.
