Yesterday I ordered stuff to build my first computer. I was looking at what i got and I think I might have ordered the wrong motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128056).
I ordered an evga 8800GTS 512MB and just noticed that in the motherboard specs it says it has an ATI chipset. Does this mean that my GPU isn't compatible?

The rest of the system is:
WD Caviar 160GB HDD
AMD Athlon 64 x2 2.6GHz
Rosewill 950w PSU
G.SKILL 2GB DDR2 800

Basically, I want to know if I will have to return/buy anything before it gets here.

BTW, I am new so...hi :)

Welcome to the forums!

yes that card and motherboard will work together. it says ATI because it has on board ati powered graphics.

why such a massive amount of power for that system?

thanks!

The PSU is so big because I wasn't sure what I would need. Next time I will ask here beforehand :)

Also, will this system run games like Crysis and COD4 well?

your cpu is going to hold you back the most, intel right now is the way to go. i would guess you can probably get crysis on high at 1280x1024, thats just a guess though. as for COD4 i would guess all high.

try this site (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest) once you get your pc up and running and it give a pretty good guess as to what it can handle.

my system can handle crysis on medium at 1024x768 FYI.
