I just got a new case for my mATX board that's inside my emachines right now. It's a Lanbox lite. I plan on upgrading to a new motherboard/processor/RAM though, and then I'll move my current setup into another MicroATX case that I'll buy later.

So can someone throw together a quick rig for me? I need a MoBo/Proc./RAM and maybe a suggestion for a video card down the road. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of $250-300

I'd appreciate this very much.

What are you looking to do with it? Gaming? Web browsing? media?

I'm kinda confused what you need. Can you clear it up a bit? BTW, welcome to TBCS:D

Sorry, I should have specified exactly what I plan on doing with it. It's going to be a moderate gaming machine, a little bit of web browsing and a side of media.

I just want to be able to run Source-engine games at High well while keeping everything snappy.

That shouldn't be too hard to do.

Total: $330 after RAM rebate.

Edit: Took Spawns suggestion and added the 8600GT. For $330, you can't beat that.

Um, I need a MicroATX board/proc./RAM. Or could I fit that in a Lanbox Lite? I know I could fit the video card at least.

It's the motherboard that decides form factor. mATX won't yield many options, but here's the next best choice.

That brings the total to $360ish.

Cheers for the AMD rig too. I've never tried AMD, but from what I hear, Intel is dominating right now.

P.S. You guys rock, thanks for helping me out.
