Yeah, i remember watching the original trailer back in the late 90s.
The duke rules, but i hold no hope of this game ever actually being made and released!

No I agree with HackSore.....We are talking about the legendary game that was supposed to rock systems round the world. Long live DUke Nukem ForNEVER....ummmm...I mean forever. I dont think it will ever make it. we been waiting since the 90's and I plan on waiting a few more years. My luck it will ocme out the day after I die or something.

Exactly, that was the thing with the original trailer. You saw it and thought "oh, cool, they are making some progress with it, shouldnt be too long before its nearing completion now!" and that was it, it was never heard from again!
So i dont take the new trailer to mean anything except 3d realms not wanting to let the duke die!

The video is about a minute long, and according to George Broussard of 3D Realms, the company developing the game, it was originally created internally as a festive treat

This game isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and I am not waiting for it. When it comes out, ohh great. Been waiting for years.

The trailer wasn't even released as a "ohh were almost done, check it out". It was made to show the other guys in the office, "hey check this". Stop wasting time and make the game, been so damn long as it is.

If you look closely the first few scenes (after Duke lifting weights) look like in game footage. I'm not a huge Duke fan but in the 3 years I have truly gotten in to computing it's all I have heard about. I just thought that you "veteran" modders and gamers may be interested.

Yeah dont get me wrong, the video is cool, and if the game ever actually gets made and released, i will be one of the first to get it, its just that its become a bit of a joke!
Its what, 10 years in the making now? :D

Personally, I feel that video was really disappointing. The animation and the character looked really piss poor considering they've had 6-7 years to work on it. I agree with "Duke Nukem ForNEVER".. they should just kill the project, and move on.

Man I saw this yesterday and really hope that this is the real deal this time!

I played DN3D back when I was young and would love to relive alot of that!

3D Realms needs to stop teasing us with this. We believed the game would be released in 2000 then in 2001. I will believe it when I see it on the shelves. Till then I dismiss this as vaporware.

I don't see any hope for this game even IF it gets released. If the game has been in production for over a decade what features in it could possibly still be innovative or in the least bit creative. I understand it will be cool "cuz its the duke" but if it is released i would put my money on it being another run of the mill shooter, granted a run of the mill shooter w/ a bad ass attitude, but still run of the mill.

Another thing to ponder... ten years of expectation (probably more by the time it is released) this game would HAVE to deliver or people would be disappointed. When the excitement gets to high, expectations are bound to be crushed. Just like halo 3.

PREY took forever to come out, probably longer than this game. It was a good game. I enjoyed it. The portals were very cool at the time. But other than that, I didn't find much innovative with it. When the first ideas came around it was very innovative, but 10 years later...not so much.

Still a very good game in my opinion. But not as good as I had hoped, by any means.
