How powerful were the fans running off of a USB? Adequate?

Should be ok. You have 5v over USB.

I tested it with the USB power and then the PSU and there was no difference in the speed.

I've always liked this one, never tried it out though. It doesn't need any extra fans or whatnots, since it uses your fans for the cooling. Its just allows them to breathe, something I always had a problem with when I had my laptop. Its doesn't appear too bulky or large either.

Just got to make sure the "X" won't block off your fans.
