I just got this CCFL/fan controller from xoxide.com

http://www.xoxide.com/sunbeam-525-lightbus.html

And one of these CCFL kits also from xoxide.

Now, the cathode has a sound reactive inverter already (mostly because i couldnt find just a regular inverter... maybe thats the problem?) but it is between the controller/switch thing and the cathode. Now, I can control the lights power and brightness from the controller fine, but it won't do either the sound or HDD reactivity. I have everything set up correctly. Could the inverter (which is always left switched on) be the problem since it's not just a plain inverter? Or is there something wrong with the controller? I had the HDD cable hooked up to the mobo (polarities match and everything)... I don't see what the problem could be...

so does it go:

Inverter/Contoller/CCFL
<or>
Controller/Inverter/CCFL

Try taking out the inverter so it goes:

Controller/CCFL

or if that doesn't work check the connection on the inverter. I have some sound sensitive cold cath's from xoxide and the connector comming from the inverter where the cathodes plug in is loose. The connector works only when it is at an angle. Try moving the connector around while the cathode is plugged in. Just don't get carried away

Well, the cathode is a two-pin connector, but the controller is 3 pin, so it has to go through an inverter. Now, the lights work fine, I can turn them on and off with the controller, fade in/out, but i cant get the other cool stuff to work, the HDD reactivity and the sound reactivity. I know the connections to the mobo/soundcard are all right, but the CCs just stay off when I put them in those modes.
