I usually ignore those when they come up, but if you're logging into a site, it's a good idea to view the certificate. Also, most sites use a secure connection for account stuff, so if it isn't an https:// site you might want to wait before logging in. Look to see if you can find a link that goes to a secure connection, like the one Spawn posted.

The www2 is not an issue - it is a legitimate subdomain of victoriassecret.com . The first time I looked at their page and clicked "my account" it happened to take me to a https://www2.vic ... etc address. Try this link and it will take you to an identical page as Spawn's link but give you the warning:

https://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application?namespace=main&origin=myMain.jsp&event=link.login

They seemingly have two www servers to share load: www. and www2. but they have not set up their security certificates properly and if you happen to get directed to the www2 server you get the message because the certificate owner and server don't match.

They have set up their security badly but it isn't a scam.

Indeed there is. Thx :) ... now if you send that lot ^ to their webmaster and customer services departments pointing out why they will be losing custom through it and ask for a store credit for your trouble (specify the amount ... like $100) - I would be VERY surprised if you didn't get it.

I'd do it myself but having briefly familiarised myself with the site to help here it does not seem to offer very much that would be of use to a celibate male Buddhist. :(
