My friend just bought a 28" Hanns-G LCD, and knowing his luck he got one with a dead/stuck pixel. Its red and its in the lower left corner. Its not terrible but it is annoying at times. The question is:

Does anyone here know how to fix this dead pixel?

We'd send it back but Newegg has a very strict dead pixel return policy and this does not fit under it.

Thanks,

I don't think "you" can fix it.

what is it a 5 percent pixel policy? get ahold of the manufacturer and see if they won't back you. I work retail so i'll tell you what usually works.

e-mail customer service....be nice, let them know whats going on.
if they don't give you the answer you want...thank them and ask for someone above them.

repeat until you get to someone important...be nice. but if you dont get the results you want, ask for someone higher up.

when you get high enough usually they call someone lower and say "make this go away, whats one unit?"

stay nice!! you get more from honey!! just keep asking for their boss if you get the "that's our policy".
anyway, that's how my company rolls. hope this helps.

let me know how it works

A its not dead, a dead pixel emits no light, its a stuck pixel :)

How to fix stuck pixels (http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor)

Or try running JScreenFix (http://www.jscreenfix.com/basic.php) on it for a bit (scroll to bottom)

The washcloth and pencil method has worked wonders for me in the past, just be careful not to damage the screen.

ok what i do is touch the stuck pixel on the mointers.. then turn it off and then back on while holding the screen then remove hand and hope its unstuck the key is to only put some force not a lot on the screen that sometimes gets them unstuck..
