Razer Barracuda 7.1 Card + Headphones

I was going to buy an HT Omega Striker 7.1 card last night but i couldnt get a hold of my mom to use her credit card. Thank God for that! The Razer Barracuda with headset just came on sale this morning. Its $169 for the bundle compared $199 for the card alone. The headphones are about $80 by themselfs, making this one hell of a deal!! I've allready placed my order.

how are the razor sounds cards compared to the creative ones?

In all the reviews i've read, the Barracuda is on par with all the top sound cards. It might not match creative for the studio musician aspects of there top cards but its equally if not more impressive than the platinum fatailty champion series for games, movies & music. It doesnt come with a I/O panel like the top creative cards do but i find thoes obstructive and unplesant if you use the I/O features on a permanent basis (who wants RCA's hanging off the front of your tower anyway?). It doesnt use the x-fi algorithyms(?), insted it has a propriatary dolby decoder.

I'll know more when it comes in.

the razor cards are definitely sexy... They were way more expensive about a year ago. Good luck with it man!

I have the claro and it's a pretty sweet card. No issues, great sound, friendly software interface...etc.
