So what's Crimson Sky's story? Is he like permanently sponsored, or is the funding for all that cool stuff from, I dunno, a trust fund or a well paying job? I'd love to make a career out of this stuff if I knew where to start...

IF I was going to buy one of his mods, i would pay about a million dollars. So I guess he just does what people ask him to do. welcome, btw

See, I knew where to start-- ;)

You take all the things you love to do and wrap it in a good long term plan and never give up, no matter what anyone says. Yes it's a struggle, and I pay for a good portion of my personal projects (like Doom3) out-of-pocket.

and that is the reason some projects take a long time.

then theres the oohh! shinny object ... play

(Object can be switched with anything you personal like)

Crimson, is there any good advice you can give someone who has never let himself fail and honestly wants to give this whole modding thing a good run? I have some sculpting exp, and a deep passion for pc's and I went today and bought a dremel tool (mentioned b/c I heard about modding around a week ago, and its my first power tool). But I want to make the best of the best and get recognized for it y'know?

Mobius---just start at the beginning and work from there ;) Build things that interest you most, and follow through with concepts and themes.

Actually, when I signed up for Yahoo mail the for the first time, I wanted to use the name Mobius, and then I started getting overwhelmed with junkmail and let the account die, and then on the second run, I had to come up with a different name, but I'm horrible at remembering the odd numbers you see at Yahoo, and wanted my name to kind of stick out a bit. After that, It's been my username all over the Web.

How do you guys manage time to mod?, I world full time, and go to college on tuesdays and thursdays, and on the weekends I barely have time to work on my pc and stuff, and I have to take care of my girlfriend too, there are so much stuff to do with so little time. all I need is more time.

Just fit it in when ever you can. Budget your time. Dont start a painting project on a day that you only have an hour or so to work on the mod. Rushing only causes stupid mistakes. Besides its fun to have an on going mod. Its nice to work hard over a couple of months and come up with a great mod then to rush on friday night and have several hundred dollars of computer parts wasted on project that youre not happy with.
