Streaming media server

Does anyone know how I can make one ? I want to allow my friends to upload music there and create their own playlists and such.

I think I may try using this http://www.icecast.org/

That would be pretty awesome. I know there are tons of media players that you can add infinite amounts of music to, but I've never heard of being able to make their own playlists.

Yeah it would :) But would I run into any problems? I mean I won't allow downloading or anything just uploading.

Well sorry to double post but i have a playlist up. Its not exactly what I wanted but it works for now. http://www.animalfrenzy.net/music/

Ya, those were the ones I was talking about. They're everywhere on myspace and such. I'd imagine there may be a few with personal play lists but I don't see how it would save unless in your temp.

Don't take this the wrong way but, what is the point? Are you trying to share music without it being illegal?

A playlist for each friend would be a nice touch but definitely not needed since they can easily choose whichever song they'd like to listen to.

We all listen to music while playing online games & this would be really simple to use if everyone adds their songs to it. Also this is a simple way to share music too :D

No Problem :D I just setup a way for people to upload music i just need to limit it to mp3s. I also added a password since I dont anybody except my friends to be able to upload music there.
