As some of you may know, I own the website of cupofpwn.com

I finally decided what to do with it. It will be a site full of pictures and videos of people getting pwned. And I'll also sell shirts and stuff that I design. I'm probably going to ask a lot of questions for this, but I'll just start off with one. I want to be able to upload videos and have them play in some sort of flash player. I don't even know where to begin with this though. I'd also like some suggestions for a content manager. I use Drupal for my other site, but I think I want to use something else with this one.

Joomla. Or Mambo. Joomla is very good, and there are a few people here using it on their sites (myself included).

As for video players, those would all be plugins for the CMS you choose. Again, I recommend Joomla because it has a ton of plugins too. I've got Fireboard (easy and free forum plugin), Community Builder (profiles, etc), and some pretty good SEO stuff.

I'll have to second .Mal's Joomla recommendation. I'm using it on my server. www.burnt45.com. That's the site I did for my brother in laws band. Tons of addons to do pretty much whatever you want.

My friend also suggest Joomla. I'll try that and see how it works.

With the videos theres a few hosting sites out there which (for a fee) will host your videos and encode them with a custom-skinned player but im sure that you can get the software yourself to encode them

Also worth considering hosting the videos on yourtube - use their bandwidth not yours and helps drive visits to your site.

I thought of doing that, but then figured I'd probably be alright just using my own.

This is Joomla, with the Seyret Component. For the low price of free. It's all open source.
