Easy question first,
Im planning on running a second psu, I know about shorting out mb pins.
If done, by shorting out pins in the standard way, and the psu is "plugged into the wall" , is the psu allways supplying current ?
(as long as the psu switch is turned on ofc)

2nd question.
Im looking at adding a worm drive to my box that will drive a screw
( not the worm drive screw ;) ...),
has anyone done this ? any ideas where I might find such a drive ? I figure I can find a small motor locally, i.e. rip one out of one of the kids toys...

but I cant seem to find a small worm drive. I was thinking maybe a model steam engine type place, they seem to run worm drives alot !
But I can find what Im after and google isnt being friendly.

Can't help on the first question but small worm gears (as well as other gears) can be found here:

Maplin's out of the UK has a plastic worm drive set that they sell made by MF/Como Drills. Not sure if there is a distributor in the US.

Again depending on size, Lego NXT worm gears:

Lego !!!
lol, now you have pointed me in the right direction, Im wondering why I didnt think of it
myself.
I got my kid, a lego kit for xmas, that, although dosnt have what I want, I could adapt....

Although, (just so I dont have to put up with screaming for the next few weeks),
I wont steal bits from his lego car, I'll just go look at some kits that do have what I need.

Thanks heaps,

yes, the way to fix that would be to take the green wire from the second psu and join it to the green wire from the first psu. when the power switch is hit it should turn both psu's on at the same time.

How about a little worm-screw motor, say, out of a floppy drive?

The picture's of a Sony, but they're (3.5" anyway) pretty much all the same.
