Hey there, this is my first mod! Well, this is going to be mainly just for practice as the case I am using is missing the side panel. But luckily I was able to switch the existing side panel to the other side so I can do a window!

The theme is going to be red and black. I plan on just throwing some crap system in, because like I said, this is just for practice. Once I convince my parents that I am not going to be throwing money away by doing this, then I will buy a case from newegg and actually complete a full mod job.

But yea, here are some pictures of what I have done so far:

I plan on painting most of it today, so I will update once that is done. But yea, if you have any tips, please let me.

Cable management?? Just a suggestion.
And if it was my case, I would rip off the front panel as well, possibly re-doing that front part. But thats just because I don't like stock look

Haha, this system has been sitting in the corner of my room for a looong time. A couple of my friends ripped the parts out, thats why the cables are so messed up, and why there is no video card or power supply.

And as for the front, I was planning on cutting a hole for a propeller intake fan.

I plan on using all different components if any. Since I cannot find the side panel of the case, I was just going to use this for practice.

I decided against the turbine fan. I decided I am going to fill the power button and restart button holes with some sort of putty. Any input on what I could do this with would be helpful. Then drilling a hole in the middle of of the front panel and putting a round power button, possibly a red bulgin style button. Then paint the 2 ridges that kind of bend in red. If you get what I mean. Then behind the 6 holes at the bottom I will put a red cold cathode.

that could look nice. one tip on the cold cathode things: make sure you get real red ones! there are lots of those things on the market and some of them say they are red but instead turn out to be more like pink.

If you do however only find the pink-ish ones, you can try painting the inside of the case red, so the reflected light will be red. I did the same thing with my red dragon mod, only I painted the inside orange...

Hey, a bit of an update! I cut the side out for the plexi:

Also, here is what I have ordered:

80 mm Fans (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999453)
4" Red Cold Cathode (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16800888030)
80 mm Fan Grills (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998120)

I am thinking of putting two 80 mm on the top. The case is old and I can't fit anything bigger than an 80 for both the intake and exhaust. So, I figure two more 80s on top should help with the air. What do you think?

Also, I am picking up a new container of Bondo because the stuff that I got out had been sitting in my garage for a looong time. Once I pick that up I will fill in the power buttons and the floppy drive and that little square indent. Then I can finally paint. Im still not sure what I want to do with the top. I dont think I wanna leave it all black. Any suggestions?

Thanks! The color scheme will be black and red. Once I get my fan holes cut I will start painting.

Idk what kind of paint you plan on using but I was told that to paint the metal you should use automotive paint but idk about the plastic.

Alright, little update. I applied bondo on the front of the case and once I get home I will sand that down and post pictures. Hopfully I will get a chance to drill the holes for my two fans on the top tonight also. Then this weekend I can start painting. :)
