I've been reading a ton of worklogs and they just say the "Glue this to that" (on Syrene (spellings off, sorry) mostly. (I'm looking at Motorized Madness) but what type of glue do they mean?

Superglue?(I have a funny story... he he. (:()) Some special glue? White glue? Magical Modders Glue?

Anyways, what's up with glue, what do you guys use for different things, etc.

I believe they just used "Super-glue" for the styrene (plastics) in their mods.

I have used a few glues for different things. When attaching mesh I used a high strength epoxy for metals, plastics, etc..

I have also use JB Weld to help support metal pieces. I would not use this as a primary means of support though. I also used some stuff called "Quick Steel" that is a putty for metal. I used it to attach the front plate on the BF2 Mod i did. Very strong stuff.

i would recomend checking pauls doom 3 log, he used styrene and some kind of uber glue which dries in 5 minutes, dont know the name but you can see the cans with the logo :)

I've read it, but I'll look again. Does JBWeld work on plastics?

Assuming that the styrene is the same stuff (polystyrene) that model kits are made of, what's wrong with polystyrene cement?

If not, check with the model shop where you bought the stuff.

I'd recommend that you get Zap glue with the kicker (accelerator).

Per Paul,

yeah that tubing and sheet stock sopunds about right. Get yourself some ZAP! medium thickness superglue and accelerator spray to assemble. Make this whole assembly as strong as possible, dont scrimp on the glue, but do it neatly. this door will take a mechanical beating, remember.

Stuff work great and quickly. Use it all the time for Warhammer figures.

Quick steel is good for metal that won't be stressed very much. It says 700 psi shearing forces but once its dry I've been able to pull it off of drive cages and sheets of metal. Marine epoxy is really good, you find that in plumbing in Wal-Mart, for plastics. This stuff dries rock hard and can be sanded smooth for painting. This has a slight thermal reaction when mixed, I think this helps when bonding when sticking to plastics.

I patched the plastic on my old Volkswagon's radiator with JBWeld. It worked for about six months before the water pressure popped it off of the hole.
