The lo down so far. Peggle was VERY cool just because it was Orange box themed. Too bad it was only a demo =(. Next was the portal demo. EPIC FAIL. You can only get up to chamber 10, which is befor you even get the second colored portal. LAME. The portal part of peggle was more fun then it. I havnt got to the hl2 yet cause i put the settings too high and had to reboot

Dude... you really need a new PC if you had to reboot playing Peggle. That'd be like, having to reboot playing Line Rider.

well just finished the portal demo and without that flash one it would have taken longer but i still would have gotten it. i liked it accept i wish there was a run (or was there?) key of sorts. i hate walking slow all the time. i also wish they had 15 levels or maybe only 6-8 training levels and 2-4 actual levels. but hey for free it gives you a sense of the game.

The only plus in this is HL2:DM if you don't have it.
Portal: First Slice is a demo.
HL2: LC is a graphics showcase
Peggle... is peggle.

Yea, HL2 DM wasnt too fun tho. All people did was get the crossbow and snipe you the whole game. Ans there really wasnt any wepons besides that. Some people make some really cool custom maps tho

Yeah, Hammer (the Source toolkit) is a pretty nice piece of equipment. If you want to make mods, it doesn't come much better than that. The UT3 Toolkit is pretty nice too though.

Depends on the map, really
There's a lot of maps and a lot of servers where people don't just snipe all day

Ohh man was playing HL2:DM awesome. I used to be able to sit there and play with friends all the time.
TF2 has kind of taken that spot now though. Different classes and quite a good balance negates the rush to the best weapons and camp people. Ya people try to camp but each class has their match in every situation, just gotta know how. But boy oh boy did I have great times with HL2:DM, its the game that got me into online FPS's. I was a rpg only guy before HL2:DM got me into the competitive FPS scene.
Edit: damn smilies being made when i type : D lol. Not sure whether to change it or not, as its quite funny to me that it did that lol.
So HL2:DM = HL2 : DM
Im sure ill edit this in a number of hours when the amusement goes away. For now just picture the smileys as "Death"!

My new ATi card got me Lost Coast and Death Match. HL2 LC is only good because it was free, definitely a graphics showcase although I still had a ridiculous fps. I serious played it through very quickly. HL2 DM is alright, need to find some better servers though.
Can't wait to get the Orange Box though.

Looks like clipping issues. Are your drivers up to date?
a.Bird
02-15-2008, 02:47 PM
Oh my, yes- my drivers are fine. I just managed to jump onto a ledge that allowed me to go where I wasn't meant to, which if you have downloaded and played Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, is apparently the villiage that is being targeted by the launcher at the top of the level. The whole demo took about five minutes to beat so I spent another 20 trying to exploit the map as much as I could.
And for those of you wondering (which I'm sure none of you are because I'm probably the only person left in the universe trying to push a 32mb agp card) my Ti4200 worked well enough to play the demo at 800*600 res with low to medium settings- roughly 30 fps. But then... what's the point of that?
