I've been helping my buddy get the best laptop possible and trying to supply him with my reasoning. But when he said this to me while trying to explain why he wants the ****tier laptop over the one I suggested for nearly the same price he says:
: plus no stickers
: theres like 3
: and thats a plus
BlackS3ven (9:32:34 PM): lol...
BlackS3ven (9:32:40 PM): stickers come right off
: windows nvidia and cpu sticker
: thats all
: still thats a pain for me to do
The laptop he wants has 1 less gig of ram, 100MHz less cpu, 40GBs less hdd space and 1 year less factory warranty.

Did I miss something, he's basing his decision on stickers? Not hardware?

thats really annoying... we should all join the tbcs chat room thing and get him to join as well then we should all bash him for stickers....

Yes, and because the other laptop (the one I put in hot hardware deals) after tax barely puts him over what he has in the bank right now and he doesn't wanna wait until his next paycheck.
His budget is 1000 dollars and apparently he'd rather have half the laptop now than wait a week and spend and extra 50 bucks lol.

He's $50 short of making the better purchase? Has he shopped around and sure he can't get a better deal somewhere? What a shame to buy that much less of a computer because of impatience and fifty measly bucks.

Ya, he's somewhat shopped around at places like bestbuy... (ya, he's one of those people that think because of the stores name, it's the best)
He's also convinced that he wants a 15 or 17" laptop that is capable of at least 1440 x 900 which is understandable but pretty retarded if the laptop can't play a game at that res without lagging.
I just don't understand why anyone would penny pinch on a long term investment.
...over stickers.

sometimes you cant explain things. I mean c'mon stupidity is gaining speed by leaps and bounds these days. Right now you know what is going to be the best medicine for this?? When he gets the system and it doesn't run worth crap you get to give him a free dose of I told you so......

Funny you mentioned that. My girlfriend and I stayed up all night discussing the worlds stupidity and how the end of the United States most likely isn't too far away. (Even though in our eyes, the United States is long gone...)

Um WTF!!! Seriously smack that fool. Stickers are the reason he won't get a better laptop?! I can't comprehend this, um wow.

No only speedholes do that.Well.... if it's one of those type R stickers that you get at auto zone. That thing should give it at least 50-100 mhz extra.

Oh man, I hate stickers as much as the next guy(I mean really do they have to put them EVERYWHERE) but i wouldn't base my laptop purchasing decision on this. By that logic the best laptop you can buy is a mac...
But don't the stickers make it go faster?!!
no the stickers create drag resistance against your hand, in return making you slower
