I recently just started my first mod (other than cutting a window). I decided to sculpt a face/head from Super sculpey for part of my case. I put about 12-14 hours of work into it and do not want to ruin it with test painting. I decided that I should make a mold of it and then cast replicas of the original to use. I looked around for materials but am afraid that if I use the wrong material it may bond to the original sculpture and/or possibly have some kind of weird chemical reaction witht the super sculpey.

Does anyone have advice on what to use to make the mold and relief of the original sculpture?

Check out Smooth on they make plastic resins and foams. They have great tutorials on how to mold items.

Here's a link:
Smooth on How to's (http://www.smooth-on.com/howto.htm)

..use cellophanos(or similar) around the model, then add plaster with some kind of textile inside (t-shirt strips, band-aids :) )...then wait...

also check out Pauls work Logs, Silicon Rising has this link in it as well. http://www.sculpt.com/technotes/2_piece_mold/1_intro.htm

But as crazyBillBob said Smooth-on has really good information on it as well. Plus they also have some very nice mold making products. I currently have the oomoo & Poyo 30.
