Some of the more advanced artists use Cinema4D but I don't think it's a cakewalk to learn.

Yeah, I downloaded a free trial and opened it up, stared blankly at the screen for several minutes and then uninstalled. There is no way in hell I'm going to be able to learn on a program that advanced but my guess is it's probably one of the best for private 3D animation. I'm no authority on the subject though.

For anyone not interested in spending $$$$$$ on a program, check out Blender. I posted a video on here a while back that was made entirely in Blender (Elephant's Dream) and trust me, it's worth the free that you pay for it. You can make videos equal (and better than sometimes) to any mainstream app.
And it's only an 8MB download :D.

My uncle gave me a book on Blender that I just noticed, lol... I should check this out. Maybe make some of them demented cartoons I've been thinking of doing. It's called the Essential Blender by the way.

Thanks for all the replies. This logo was made pretty fast, I pulled it out in under 30 minutes.
I will post new stuff as I get better at 3ds max

Where are you finding the AE and 3DSM tutorials? There was one really good AE website that I used to use, but I can't remember it anymore...
And I've never really found anything very good for 3DSM (besides the tuts that come with it).
Edit: Never mind, I found it. Videocopilot.net.
