Hi,
I'm jst in the process of upgrading my editing system and after changing two components;
ATI x1550(old) to nVidia GF8500 GT 512mb(new)
Intel Core Duo 1.83Ghz(old) to Intel Core Quad Duo 2.40Ghz(new)
Since doing so the system turns on and on the first screen states the Main Processor (which is correct) but then doesn't continue on to the memory tests... The USB keyboard (setup to work in BIOS previously) doesn't work with the system any more, and the PS/2 adapter doesnt help... There are no beeps.
Ive swapped between graphics cards... moved the RAM about... the only thing i havent fiddled with is the processor but im a bit nervous when it comes to fiddling with my £170 baby
AWARD BIOS - Stops after main processor, which it identifies correctly - NO error messages appear
Cant reset CMOS atm as i need to get a jumper for it... Oddly enough the motherboard didnt have one when i got it...
reset the CMOS and no luck! This morning i reseated the processor (thinking there might be some bent or missing pins) and nothing with that... There are still no beeps on startup and i've moved the RAM around AGAIN! All the fans are working. The keyboard doesn't even light up or do any thing and its in the PS/2 port as default CMOS sets it. I left it on the POST settings for 5 minutes yesterday without any luck of something happening.
I thought id chuck some pictures up as that might help but this is a seriously tricky one!!

ANY help at all would help!
Please help us out!
