That is why i like old cars. My 71 nova only cost me $28 US a month to insure.

Oh btw, I am 20 years old. 21 in March :D.

My insurance just dropped down to $73 for my '06 Jeep Liberty, But I'm 27 and have had a clean driving record for 5 years. Is that 2000 pounds for 6 months or a year??
Very nice. What kinda car did you get?
And yes insurance blows, heres what a few of the cars I've had so far have cost:
01 Firebird v6 - $880 per 6 month period
91 Bronco 351 -$650 per 6 month period
01 Accord -$ 600 per 6 month period
the insurance blows here where me and si-sky live, and from that price i would assume its for a year,
im 21, live just up the road and was paying £900 ($1800) per 6 months for a rover 400 (2ltr)

It's too late now! Buhahahaha
Kinda don't matter, it's a track car only, hence speed bumps aren't an issue either.
Wouldn't last 5 mins on the road, most of the front bodywork is held on with cable ties (so it comes of when you clobber something instead of bending and breaking stuff), and the suspension is so low and hard it'd drive you mad. Oh, and it has no keys, just a starter button and ignition switch, both stolen from an industrial machine of some description.
She's prepped for Matt Black paint at the moment, gonna look spanking when she's done.
And since the pic, I got my new bucket seats and harness in.. mmm... holding in place while drifting, and able to use the wheel to steer instead of hanging on ftw!

Sweet skyline, you've got a fold away beer holder!
As some of you may have heard, i crashed my car earlier today. It was bad and could have been a lot worse. Basicly, my dummy tire folded on me while in a tight rolling corner and shot my rear end out. I over corrected and started sliding for the curb, i tried to correct but the tires grabed and jerked my car into the next lane. I would have escaped at this point if it wasnt for the 3 ton cube truck in the next lane which i connected with. I cliped his heavy bumper and it sent me into a slide that took me up over the curb and through 5 or 6 steel fence posts. I stoped with the curb behind my front tires and my rear on the fence. The fence turned into a cement barracade about 10 feet down the line so if i had of went any further i would have smoked it good on the passenger side. The guy driving the truck didnt realize that i had hit him, i tried my best to not slam into him. He thought he had just poped a tire or something. There was no damage to his truck besides a small dent in his bumper and a good tire scrub from my fender. Me and my passanger were perfectly fine. I drove the car the rest of the 20km home with a bent wheel spindle and various other broken parts on the drivers side along with my window. I havent been in many crashes but that one was the smoothest easiest crash i've ever been in.
I'll upload some pics of the damage tomorrow when there is enough light.
Enough about that though... I've been networking this afternoon and a friend has a nissan 240sx in excelent condition and will let it go for $1200 on a yet to be worked out payment plan.

Dude, sorry to hear about your accident. I am very glad every one is ok. Sounds like it could have turned out very bad.
Seeing as though everyone is posting their cars, here is mine. Going on 4 years I've had it now. Thinking about something different, but it gets me from A to B and everywhere between so I can't complain.

That's an older pic. Living in the city-ish area for the last year she's got a few new dings and such. And I can't find a good place to wash and wax. I'd just go out in the rain and wash it in a good shower, but kind of hard to do in sub-freezing temps. So, right now, imo she looks like ass, but nothing a good day spent cleaning can't clear up. I damn sure am not paying 15$ for an automatic wash that when you get out isn't even clean. Just have to wait for good weather and drag a bucket full of water down the apartment stairs. Not having access to a hose sucks lmao.

Me and my older sister currently share a 1994 Nissan Altima GXE, but my dad recently gave me a car of my own. He bought a new car last weekend (2008 Nissan Versa) so he said I could have his old 1989 Honda Accord :D. 5 speed, manual transmission, and all mine. It may be old, and I may not be able to drive it that well, but I'm not too bad at driving it and I get my own car. For being 16 and not having to buy it, it's a nice deal.
well i have just bought a car,,,,,,

1.6 5dr Hatchback Automatic, very nice, zetec edition
I like it and does 80 miles on 1/4 on a tank of petrol.

Shes been good to me. I've taken her across country, loaded down. I've put a few hundred pounds of firewood, camping gear, and 5 guys in her and driven through backroads in Arizona, places where you only see trucks, quads, and jeeps go, and beat countless 4 bangers with her at green lights. All while averaging 19-24 mpg, take that SUV's.
.Maleficus., thats a great car. Those things are invincible. If you've never driven stick before its perfect to learn on. It may not be the fastest or best looking car around, but I tell ya, it will run till the end of the world and then some. You can beat the crud out of it and they just keep going. (I learned how to drive manual on a '91 accord :P) In no time you'll be a pro at driving it.
i learnt in a manual, and drove manual, but choose auto for my mum so she can drive it also, to help her get mobile again

Heres my awesome Mitsubishi 3000GT which I just (2 weeks ago) bought with my own cash. It had 160,000 miles on it when I bought it for $3200. Other than a small tear in the passenger seat it was in good condition. The seller still hasnt taken his ad off of craigslist, heres the pictures he took (my camera is dead).

Those are sick cars!
They look really nice with body kits on them.
I think I've posted what I've have but I'm not sure so I'll say it again.
I have a purple 1997 dodge intrepid. the "grape escape."
It's really nasty looking but it's dependable and thats all I really care about.
I really wanna get a 1985ish mini couper this summer after I save up some more money.
I don't want a new one. Heres a good comparison pic.

I would keep it for a long time and slowly upgrade it.
Eventually I would pay a company that replaces the engine, drive-train, and suspension.
They replace the engine that is normally 1200cc with a 150hp honda V-tec.
It will get up and GO!!!
This would be what I would like to end up with (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj3LmIuovYQ&feature=related)

oops, haven't been on a while, i ended up with a 2003 silver sunfire 4 door. got it for 4500 with 110k on it.
and i' was going to be paying 4000CDN a year but there was a communication error and its only 2600. that was a nice surprise.
here is a picture.
i added a 10" JL audio ported (http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_enclosures.php?menu=8&prod_id=315) box with a Sony XMD9001GTR (http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/ProductDetailDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=1002338&navigationPath=32150n46280). running from the stock deck. i know i should change out the other stuff but i'm really happy with it and don't want people knowing i have it. my brother has had his system taken in the same spot my car is in right now.
