My daughter has an HP Slimline PC with crappy GeForce 6150 graphics. Does anyone know of any decent low profile video cards for PCI-E?

Second Row last picture. (http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&q=HP+Slimline+PC&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi)
the only thing i could think of is getting a card like this and modding the pci bracket.

I found this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133210), but I don't know if it's a good card or not. For $149 though, it better be.

If she's expecting to play games... she's going to have trouble with a workstation card.
Do you have an exact model for this Slimline PC?

HP Slimline S3020n. This one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150257) has a review for a guy whpo put it into his slimline. It's the one I went with too.

That one will work great for basic games.

One of the guys who reviewed it on Newegg says:
"I've heard time and time again this card won't run games. So far I've played Halo, Fear, Bioshock, and Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare they run great highly recommended "
I think it'll play Peggle and Spongebob just fine.

That is probably the best low profile video card you will find.
The Quadro you linked to would not work as well at games as the last one. It also does NOT come with the low profile bracket. (I have a bunch of those quadro's sitting on my desk since we upgraded several systems that shipped with them).

My point still stands. Just because you can get a game to run, doesn't mean it doesn't run well ;).
Fear and Bioshock could be running on low (he doesn't say) and I'm fairly positive that CoD4 is low resolution and running on the lowest setting.
As for halo, that one is proberly running on high.
And I'm pretty sure you can play peggle and spongebob fine on that graphics card.

You can get a 8500GT in low profile, though I can only find the open-box (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127301R) one on new egg right now. It is a heatsink only card, so it's silent but may run a tad on the warm side.

It doesn't include a low profile bracket.

OK, I got the 8400 GS and it's already in my daughter's computer. First off. It's Fast! Peggle and Spongebob don't stand a chance. Second. The card's output is for the dual link cable. Even if you have no intention of using two monitors you still have to connect the cable and then connect the cable (Marked #1) into your lone monitor. Otherwise the card is great and I am VERY pleased with this purchase.
