How It All Started:

before 24th December 2007 at least 2 years before

Well after looking on the forum for about a year and other forums like this (bit-tech, TBCS and a few others) i wound pluge in a build a custom rig, but haveing not much money a no pc building experience, i went looking for old system to rebuild to get to know the parts (only none two so till a begner), then i started to read the magerzine, Custom PC which iterjucied me to the big e-tailor (such as scan, misco, dabs and novatech) from there i've been added items to the shopping basket and designing a computer though my head. i then relished when i start to build all of this most of the products will change (new products, old products cheaper and so on) so i decide to stop with that and to customize the begie case i had salvage from my works skip, and then think about the inside, and after some thought and buying the books "pc chop shop" and "dightal hot rods" the designs started poping into my head, but before i got carried away in doing a complete custom design, i shound start at the bottem, and work my way to the top, and on that i have decide to do a morden/idustrail looking case with an orignal fell to it, lain li interia parts (because i love there hard drive cages) and a fast slick looking paint job.

Brief:
To customize my boring standed beige case, to a high performance computer with a morden and idusrail theme. With a fast slick pant job, Water cooling and Lain Li interior parts.

Plan:
1.To paint the case fully black including interior, including the lain li parts which will be black powder coated
2.Twin Turbine Fans in front of case (2 120mm)
3.2 custom resvires with led's and mesh in side panel
4.Lian Li Wheels, Removeable MB Tray, Hard Drive Rack and DVD Drive Rack
5.9 White LED's in bottem of case to give glow afect and 4 led's in each resiver to give glowing
6.White stipes along front, top and side panel of case
7.Remote DVD Drives 2 In Total
8.All Cables to be Sleeved In White Sleeving
9.cpu and gpu watercooling
10.Custom Usb Hub In front Of case
11.custom name on left side panel
12.Mesh around componants

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FrontPerspex.jpg

front perpex panel instead of the metal one i made which will in cooperate led's

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/4TubeHolders.jpg

these will hold the tubes which i will much up to 4s, i have designs theres as thee is going to be a hell of a lot of tubing and once again led's incorporated into the perspex

i have also designed some for 2 lots of tubing, and again with led's

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/2TubeHolders.jpg :D

First of I wound like to thank Paul at CCS Windscreens for sponsoring me for this mod

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CCS.gif

I have applied another coat of filler on to the side panel

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00078.jpg

When I cut of the excess plastic on the front bezel it left the area around it ugly and rough so I put a sanding disc in the dremel and sanded it down.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DremelWithSandingDisc.jpg

I’m going to include a quick safety message in here, about safety items when dremeling, due to the fact I spent 5 hours in A&E on Thursday, I was dremeling out some metal sheeting when the disc snapped and landed in my eye,

I have got a cut my the side of my left eye, a scratched eye and there was dermel dust in there

There lifted up my eyelid and shoved a cotton bud up there to remove the dust, which was really wied then the put some orange dye in my eye to make sure it was all out,

Now I’ve got a half orange eye, which I can’t see, propley out of, and have to put eyedrops and cream in for the next week

So I recommend now that you where there’s dust masks

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/musk.jpg

And some goggles

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/googles.jpg

After that now for the dremeling

Before Sanding
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/InsideAfter.jpg

After Sanding
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/bezalaftersanding.jpg

as you can see from the picture above that I have rounded off the bottom of the bezel for the lain li ports that I am going to buy

I am also going to change the design of the side panel, due to the fact that I put the res’s up onto the side panel and the angles didn’t look right, so I am going to put 3mm Perspex under the side panel and then cut out the new hole and filler up the holes after I have installed the Perspex surroundings

Like THEkorean did with his black and which wavemaster

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/bittech.jpg

I will be doing something like that but with two res’s instead of one

I have also changed my mind on the front fans I will now have two 120mm fans together instead of a 92mm and a 120mm

Here is the new design

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FrontIntakeFans.jpg

I will make a fan box to go in the front of my case for this and will make a turbine style front bezel as before for the fans, which I will filler up.

I am also deciding on if I if should put a 7’ screen on the bezel of the case.

Well after them changes I had some more,

I’m going to get it spayed my by mate Colin and then get it airbrushed with lightin stripes.

That’s it for now happy modding

23rd February 2008

In this update I have gone Perspex mad, and I mean it, Paul hocked me up with my Perspex and loads of off cuts to, so a big thank you to him.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/PErspex.jpg

Look at all that Perspex, I sorted though what he gave me, to the stuff that he cut for me

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/2120mmfanbox.jpg

all the Perspex there is for my 2 120mm fan box that will sit in the front of the case

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/BackPanelplexi.jpg

smoked Perspex for the back of the case

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FrontPlexi.jpg

3mm clear Perspex for the new front of the case

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/PlexiSide.jpg

the new side panel

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SparePlexi.jpg

and all of that is for spare, which I will use, he he he, secret plan

Now we got all that out the way, I went down the local screwfix on Thursday to get some new toys, for the Perspex

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/TpandDie.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/TapAndDie2.jpg

Tap and Die set

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DrillBits.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Drillbits2.jpg

And some new self centering, hss extreme 2 drill bits

And I did order a nice bench drill press but there didn’t have it in stock, ooo well I check back next week for it

Well guys my dads got this secret stash of sand paper filler and filling equipment from when he was a body repair and spay expert

Gave be some stuff for me to work with

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Fillerdfgf.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/WetandDry.jpg

Some nice filler knife things, and some silicon carbine paper better know as wet and dry, a tip for all the people doing there technology GCSE, You have to say glass paper instead of sand paper and silicon carbine paper instead of wet and dry, as both of them are trade names.

All right on to the front panel, Paul cut all my Perspex to size, all I had to do was trim a few edges at the bottom and the side

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CutOut.jpg

I have drilled the six holes for the bolts that will hold it to the front metal of the case, plus the 4 big holes for the brackets that connect the bezel to the case

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/NeralyAllHolesDrilled.jpg

and a little test fit

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/NewFrontTestFit.jpg

I have drilled out the 3mm holes for the leds, which will light up the centre hole for the 2 120mm fan intake

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/6oftheledsholesdrilled.jpg

That’s it for now Happy Modding

bentleya

24th February 2008

After drilling most of the holes yesterday for the front plexi I am now moving on to the fan box which is going to be made out of 6mm clear Perspex, I haven’t finished the front plexi, due to the fact I a m waiting for my 114mm hole saw to be delivered

I checked over the measument for the fan box, in which got cut out, and I forgot when I designed it that it wound be 10mm, so I have drawn out the new lines to be cut

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FanBoxCut2BeMade.jpg

As you can see in the picture below where the blade got hot when I was cutting it with my jigsaw, it has melted it a bit leaving the sides stringy a bit of sanding should solve the problem

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FanBoxCut.jpg

I will not start to drill the holes in the box to my hole saw comes, so I am just going to sand down the edges to make the fit better

As I have got to sand the edges down I fort I wound give it a little test fit just in case I sand to much off

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/TestFitBeforeSanding.jpg

I told you a few updates ago that I was changing the side panel, I have cut out the centre of the side panel ready for Perspex

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SidePanel2ndCut.jpg

I have marked out the Perspex that will go on the side panel ready to be cut

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/PerspexSidePanelMarkedToBecut1.jpg

All clamped up ready to be cut

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SidePanelPerspexClampedUp.jpg

Before I get on to today’s update, I’ve good some more supplies

One hell of a load of filler (standard p40 stuff, with hairs in)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/P40BodyFiller.jpg

100m of bell wire

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Wire.jpg

2 4cm fans for the plate divider

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/24cmFans.jpg

a soldering aid, I have been trying to get one of these for ages, so I’m very happy

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SolderingAid.jpg

Now on to the update, I am going to start this update with the inside plate divider, I have marked the Perspex with the cut and bending lines

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/PlateDividerCutAndBendLines.jpg

After a quick chop on the chop saw

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/ChopSawed.jpg

I’m going to Leave the Bending to later, because I want to get most of the filling down on the side panel

Have marked and drilled 6 4mm Holes for bolts on the side panel, these will be used later for securing the mesh and the Perspex with led’s in, I have randomly placed the six holes!!!

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SIdePanelSixHolesMarked.jpg

I have taped the holes for the bolts so there stay in position while I put the filler on, and I have inserted the bolts

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/BoltsInSidePanel.jpg

A few final adjustments on the side panel before gluing

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/AjustmentsMade.jpg

Now I have glued the Perspex to the side panel ready for filler

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/AllGluedUp-1.jpg

will be some more later but to then happy modding

well it’s been a while since the last update, due to the fact of redoing the first which is still not done, but I think it is an improvement on the last,

I’ve spent the week ordering and trying to source parts, with some joy and a lot of (can’t find what I’m looking for)

So the lot of pro ducts came for the custom cables, and there over stuff I’m ordering later

So to start 100 3.5mm stereo jacks (nice little photo shot here If I was good at taking photo)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Singlejack1.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SingleJack2.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/jsckinMac.jpg

50 3.5mm PCB stereo sockets (nice little photo shot here if I was good at taking photos)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/50jackScokets.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/JAckandSocket.jpg

and I’m going to get some nice hi res Photos here in a week or so for my new avatar (HE HE)

I have order 300 leds on Tuesday and should be here the begging of next week, 100 red, 100 white and 100 UV all with 12v resteris (and prosser13 should be some coming your way)

Now on to the side panel, (first few are teaser shots which you might of seen this week)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00069-1.jpg

I can tell you now this is going to be one heavy beast.

There will be an update later till then happy modding

well some of my products came that I ordered, my red Perspex and tubing for my cables

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RedPerspex.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/30mOfTubing.jpg

well now you’ve seen them lets start chopping it up (a row of five pictures because I think it is self explaining)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RedPerspexMainSheetMarekd.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RedPerspexCutOut.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RedPerspexReadyToBeMarked.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RedPerspexMarked.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RedPerspexTubeHolesDrilled.jpg

well after doing all of that I drilled the 5 mm holes and the B**** cracked, I’m not to fussed about it because this time I will make it better,

I have made a quick sketchup model for you to see what it should look like. And this bit of Perspex will fit over the top of the divider plate where the tube holes are.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/PlateDivderTubeHolesRedPerspex.jpg

well before I redo that little piece of Perspex, I’m going to apply another layer of filler to the side panel so it can dry a bit while I do my Perspex.

I have marked off areas of the side panel with masking tape, these area are area I don’t want filler on, you while notice in the picture that o have marked with a marker pen on the side panel, these are the areas I am applying filler to

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/SidePanelmarkedAndMaskedUp.jpg

I tried to put the side panel back on the case the other day and the Perspex was stopping it, so the dremels out and it’s going to get cut

Well now I got that cut out, now out with the sand paper for the side panel

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Sidepaneltestfit2rs.jpg

There will be an update later, I just fort u guys wound want this update wile I sand for hours

Till the next update happy modding

15th march 2008

my leds came today, 100 red, 100 white and 100 uv, there all came with resterias and i brought them of ebay, from a ebay shop that is in china

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/OnoesPErspexCracked.jpg

now on to today i am going to be doing some work on the divider plate, so to start i have marked out holes for bolts and leds

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FanAeramarkedFordrilling.jpg

i will be drilloing 6 holes for leds using a 3mm drill bit and 4 holes for the bolts using a 5mm drill bit

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FanAeraCentrepunched.jpg

i have centre puched ready for the drill bit

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/FanAeraHoleDrilled.jpg

all the holes drilled, i got scared when i was driling for the bolts as it was right on the bend but it was fine

next up i have cut out w section of red perspex, one to go over the tubing holes and one to go over the fan holes

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/2NewRedPlexiCut.jpg

first up i will drill 2 5mm holes for bolts in the tubing perspex

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/readytoBedrilled.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DrilledandBolted.jpg

and 4 5mm holes for bolts in the fan area

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/fanaerareadytobedrilled.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Fanaeradrilledandbolted.jpg

i am mking 9 6mm holes at the back of the divider plate for stero jacks, i have marked it out below

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/9holesforjacks.jpg

ready to be drilled

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00090.jpg

it was all going to plan till i drilled the last hole, i had to change the batteriy on the drill and was to much power and a cracked the perspex, ooo nose i really feel like C***

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/readytodrilljacks.jpg

so i will be making number 3 tomoz but i'm not sure hoe much perspex i'll have to do it, i have decided to deign all my perspex on sketchup and get it laser cut out as i have made it twich by hand and it has gone wrong

till next time happy modding

Well long time no update, so heres a big one, i have started work on the front bezel of the case

I have marsked of the front bezel and marked ready to be dremeled out

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/BezelMarkedForDremel.jpg

Here is the pipe i will be using for the corners of the hole

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00095.jpg

Here the hole is cut out

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00096.jpg

i have cut the piping to the right size for the hole

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00097.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00098.jpg

i have marsked up the pipe to the case while i apply the filler

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00099.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00100.jpg

Here i have used body filler on the underside to hold the plastic in place

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00101.jpg

A test fit to see what it looks like

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00102.jpg

i have marsked up the other corner

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00103.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00104.jpg

and here it is with the filler

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00105.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00106.jpg

test fit

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00107.jpg

Remember this perspex, yes it is the old plate divider i will be using stripes to make the straight edges

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00108.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00109.jpg

here there are cut out

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00110.jpg

I have marsked them up like before ready for filling

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00111.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00112.jpg

Filled

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00113.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00114.jpg

And a test ft

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00115.jpg

From this point i will not be explain the pictures as i go along, basically it is layers of filler applied followed by sanding down of it then a test fit on the case

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00116.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00117.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00118.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00119.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00120.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00121.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/DSC00122.jpg

well the front bezel is not finished yet i have got to measure and cut perspex for the drive bays for a fan controller and power switches, filler in side the intake hole, sand down the bottom of the pip so there uniform and some more stuff but i don't want to bore you.

i also have got some more plans for the case, one of which involves motorized gas struts. i have been searching for these but as i don't do what there are called it is a bit hard trying to find them :( so i ask dose anybody know what there called, and it wound be even better if you post a link to the shop :)

so till next time happy modding

28th March **Birthday Special**

this update is 3 days late, sorry guys, i had lots of stuff to do, to start it was my birthday on Tuesday so this is a birthday special. if your wondering what i got? ...... i got a few cloths some shoes and some random bits and bobs.

i also treated myself by ordering some nice parts 3 weeks though an english guy who is working out in the USA till June and he shipped them over to me. if you wound like to use his service please visit this page http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2770 i wound highly recommend him if you are struggling to get parts in the uk.

so here is what i treated myself to, everything is from www.performance-pcs.com accept the ram cooler which i brought second hand from a mate over at WCUK.

So to start the ram cooler, which is a Corsair Dominator, which has black cable sleeving (i'm going to remove this to make way for my white cable sleeving). the ram cooler is in perfect condition just a bit of dust and few little scratches, but that doesn't matter because i will get some nice new stickers for it. now for the photos

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RamColler1.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RamCooler2.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/RamCoolor3.jpg

Next up is a set of black Lian Li black metal casters, with brake.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Wheels1.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Wheels2.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Wheels3.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Wheels4.jpg

The one with the brake will go at the back of the case.

Switches, and i tell you these are nice, they are black Lamptron Vandal Resistant Illuminated Switch white a White Ring, i have 3 which have no wires attached, and one with wires attached for the power switch which has been sleeved in white braiding

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/WiredSwitch1.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/WiredSwitch2.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Switch1.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/Switch2.jpg

now for the most important bit of the order the Lian Li MotherBoard Tray, i tell you this is nice just as nice as the switches. i like the lian li stuff so much more after watching this video on huxus tv http://www.hexus.tv/show/2007/11/Exclusive_look_inside_Lian-Li_s_Taipei_HQ_and_factory_facility/ which shows how there made and around the offices, and i tell you there hand made, how many cases can you say are hand made.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/MBTray.jpg

now for another important item the white cable sleeving, i did try and get this in the uk but no where sold white 3mm cable sleeving by the foot, i could get black but i want white. so i ordered 30 meters of it the same length as the pipe which will go over the sleeving

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CableSleeving.jpg

i also got a psu bracket but i didn't get a photo of it, i won't accultey be using it on the case, i will use it for marking out.

About what modding will be done this weekend. to start i will try and finish the side panel and the front bezel and start work on the back of the case and the layout in the case, deciding between ATX or BTX setup, Where the rads will go, psu where abouts and much more

i will also do some test with the sleeving, and mod my dvd drive, more info on this tomorrow.

thanks for reading guys, please post comments as it helps me get motivated to work,

till next time happy modding

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0160.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0155.jpg

i will show first the Led's i am doing it slightly different that what is shown in the guide but it is based on the same idea.

the led's ready to be made

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0161.jpg

with wire and heat shrink attached

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0162.jpg

i have marked out where the tray is on the back of the drive so i now how much space i have got for putting in my Led's

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0167.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0171.jpg

i have drilled 3 holes for the Led's and a hole for the switch wires

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0188.jpg

a little test fit of the wires

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0191.jpg

now for the cables for the leds which there will get the power from

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0194.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0195.jpg

just test fitting the leads

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0196.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0197.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0198.jpg

i put the cover back on the dive to see if it fitted but no not really, so i have marked where i have to dremel to make it fit

now for the switch, i have attached two wires to the pins of the eject button on the front of the drive

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0175.jpg

then i routed the wires out the back of the drive

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0182.jpg

i noteched when i was doing that, that the PCB didn't fit back right so i had to drill a hole at the back for the wires

The Laser Cut Rad Grill
A few weeks a go a go a great big parcel from marcus000 with loads of good pie shizzle in it :D
My rad grill one of theses items (see pic below) think I may mention his services here, some of his latest work is amazing with supernova a modded v2000 in Custom PC mag, he can offer, laser cutting (side panels, rad grills or anything you like), powder coating, wet spay, acrylic etching, custom builds and a lot more. Head over to WCUK (http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk and the forum http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/forums/ for his work)

Wahoo an Update

Right guys sort of left you lot in the dark alot about this project, but you problebly won't understand. But today as well as showing a little update i would like to share the plan for the rest of the year with you.

So before we get on with plan, i think it is time for the update, (WAHOOO)

Update - 3rd January 2009 - Bottom and Top of Case

Right Lets start at the bottom and work are way up with this update, not going to say much as must people just look at photos.

The basic idea is that i have raised up two section either side of the case for the wheels to mount, using body filler and acrylic for this task.

I have mounted my lian li wheels on the raised section as you will see below. So i'll stop talking and show you lot some photos.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG0531-1.jpg

The bottom is not finished yet as i got a few more thing s to do before i finalize the rest of it.

So now onto the top, I have added the acryan Rad grill, kindley sponsored by them :) and mouted it on the top.

I also enlaged the out side holes in doing this as i CBA to buy new bolts :)

I will be changing the top later so that grill is temporary :( but i think the new one will be better more details later.

Hardware

Right first lot of changes is the PSU i have changed the Thermaltake PSU to a Corsair TX650W PSU, which allows me to add another GPU, so i can RUN 2 x GPU card>

GPU, I had brought another EVGA 8800GT to go sli, thats the reason of the above upgrade, but the first 8800GT Died and got RMA'ed :(, From that RMA i got my money back as they no longer do the card. I'm cool with that as did'nt want SLI anyway :). I am looking at the new XFX 4870 as it has black pcb and red DVI slots, The black will match the system better, than the green on the 8800GT and give me better performance for a longer life. (if you understand)

Ram, i have brought another kit of the same ram i have got giving me 4GB, i'm still running 32bit but will hopefully be going 64bit some time later this year :)

Yeah they recently announced that they will be making ATI cards. Their first is the 4850 I think.

The boy 4rm oz
02-16-2009, 04:44 AM
Yeah the 4850 is a very good card. My friend isn't too impressed with his though. My entire system scores 12,500 points in 3DMark06 (at stock) and his system (using a Q6600 @ 3GHz and 4GB DDR3 RAM) scores 11,500. He may have a dud but his results are very poor, my brothers rig with a E6600 and an 8800GT gets better FPS lol.

well today is another good day, i got something done :), i have re done all the bottom, pics and stuff below :), hope you in joy the update and all comments are really welcome :)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1356.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1357.jpg

Half an hour later, a dremel 300 and a sander i have the bare bottom again with just the middles filled.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1366.jpg

I then drew all the bits needing filler before the new middle section

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1367.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1371.jpg

Filed and then sanded

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1374.jpg

next is the new plexi section

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1369.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1370.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1375.jpg

Test fit :) i like doing tests like you may already know

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1376.jpg

Here i have marked and then drilled holes to hold the plexi on while i filler it :)

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1377.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1379.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1380.jpg

On to the filler :), first lot on

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1381.jpg

then sanded and another load of filler on top

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1382.jpg

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh122/skiaaron/CIMG1383.jpg
