View Full Version : Condolences to Bucko's friends and family
It's no doubt that the loss of Bucko saddens us all. Personally, I'm still in shock over the news. Here is your chance to send your condolences straight to Austrailia. Jon volunteered to compile the list and will make a post in the Bikes On Show forum where many of his friends and family will see them.

To Bucko: Hey mate. If you can read this, I got the news. Really sucks. I hope that if there's an afterlife, you're livin' it up. May the roads rise to meet you, and the wind always to be to your back.
To Bucko's Family: I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I never knew Lee personally, just on our forums. He was a great staff member and an even better friend. He was constantly polite and patient, and quite the character. I hope that you all can find consolation for this tragedy in all of our lives.
Sincerely,

i have to give credit to the other forum though i mean they really came togother and supported him just as much as us i wish i could do more but i realized that (after reading 8 out of the 11 pages of the thread on the other site i really see how strong they are as a forum just like us and i think thats really cool
i guess what im trying to say is that theres alot of respect for him at both the forums
we all miss you dude alot of people looked up to you

Bucko, this whole deal still seems a bit on the unreal side. I'm very glad to say that I was allowed the opportunity to see your mods; your desk; and your half shaved face. You seemed to be someone who lived life to the fullest and were bigger than life itself.
You will be sorely missed my friend.

Thank you everyone for speaking your mind about Bucko. We all loved him and will miss him greatly. Please use this thread only to speak directly to his friends and family over on the biking forum. We feel that a compiled string of condolences might say more than numerous random posts in the biking thread from people they don't know. When this get's most of your words placed here, I am going to compile a full document signed by us all and post it there for them to see that he not only touched the lives in Australia, but had friends on other forums and aqll over the world. I will also take comments that were written in the other thread as they were just as touching and I beleive belong in this note. Someone mentioned building a video or slideshow of his mods and some random pictures he posted here, I think that is a wonderful idea and if someone volunteers for it please help them out by finding some of his more charctered posts to include. Thanks guys and gals,
Jon
P.S.- Don't forget to sign your message so they can see who you are.

Damn I don't know how to take this, I didn't know him personally but still...
Bucko, if somehow you can read or know this: If I had a bike I'd be taking a long ride right now in your honor.
Damn... I might need a drink.

Bucko made this forum a pretty fun place to be, and the thought of anyone losing a life is unfortunate. And it was also unfortunate that he is now part of the statistic.

Bucko,
I can't believe this news, it's too awful to be true. I was only talking to you last week about how great your new life was. I only met you briefly once, and I've only known you for a year, but I (or anyone else for that matter) will never forget your great personality and the friendships that you had with all of us. You will be sorely missed, and you will always be loved.
RIP Bucko

I am numb. I know he hasn't been around here for a while, but I did see him drop in from time to time. I feel a great loss that I won't get the opportunity to experience his witty humor. I take comfort that he went doing what he loved, and believe he is still riding in a better place. I take comfort in the fact he was a positive impact in the lives of many. The Aussie roads will not be the same without him.
Rest in Peace my friend, you will be missed by many.
My condolences go out to the Beckett family, I know nothing can be said to ease your pain. My heart and prayers go out you.

I've been delaying posting anything, searching for the right words. I had a horrible night of sleep. Couldn't get Bucko and his family out of my mind. Isn't it strange how someone you've never met face to face can have such a positive and emotional impact on your life? I can only hope that he's riding wide open in a better place with the sun on his face, and the wind at his back.

I too had to think quite a bit about what to post here. Bucko was a tremendous force here on our forum, and will be sorely missed by all. Though many of us never met him face to face, our time spent chatting about our shared hobby made him our friend.
He was always there with a helpful suggestion, a kind word, or just a story from the road. We all miss you Bucko.

I never knew him personally but he was always there for anyone who needed help or inspiration. Everything he did was with a unique style and grace. Where ever you are, keep riding and modding Bucko. You were always a motivation to me and to others. I wrote a post in the past that stated that "This forum was only as great as it is because of the amazing people in it". We will do our best to keep this place an amazing place to learn, mod, and just hang out. You will always be missed, but always remembered.

When Bucko joined this site, he was an instant hit. Pretty much everone got on with him, and he was always good for a laugh. I'd been an Admin for about a year at that point, and Paul decided to let him help run the site. He put in a lot of effort, and we usually had a good laugh talking about Red Dwarf and Donkey/Midget sex. I remember one time, he got a free razor, and decided to try and shave his beard with it. The razor packed in halfway, and he uploaded a photo of himself with a perfectly shaven left side, and a big beardy right, perfect line up the middle. Not to mention his mastery of MSPaint! Bucko was always joking around.
When he won his court case, we saw less of him here. I thought the guy had finally got a break, a chance to take some time out and have a bit of fun.
What can I say that the other members haven't? That he died doing something he loved is a good thing. I don't know what Bucko believed about the afterlife, but I can say with 100% confidence that wherever he is, whatever he's doing, he'll be laughing. Especially if there's Midgets and/or Donkeys involved.
Bucko, I'm really gonna miss you.

I can still hear the sound of his voice coming through over SKYPE. Lee was always quick with a joke and a warm greeting.
His laughter was infectious--the kind that carried you along with it and tickled you until the tears came.
Lee was also very giving--often sending spare modding parts around the world so people could finish their projects.
I don't like many people in this f.u.c.k.e.d up world, but I liked Bucko a great deal.

I really don't know what to say - I never got to talk with him much, but it's clear from his presence here that he was a truly unique (not to mention talented) soul. If there's a bright spot in this, it's that he died the way he lived - riding one of his beloved bikes.
We'll miss you, Bucko.

Almost ten years since my friend passed.
Think about him still, remember all the mornings I would be at work while he was winding down for the night and the hilarious / insightful conversations we would have.
I didn't have a good departure from this site, as I was a bit jaded at the time. But Lee was always my friend regardless.
Still very sad that I never got to meet him in person and give him a hug.
Not being able to see him is still one of the top reasons why I will most likely never visit Australia (no offense, just would be so bittersweet for me).
Miss you still Lee.
