Where do you purchase mesh? Is it something I can find at a local hardware store or home depot? What section of these stores would have it? Thanks.

First of all, welcome to TBCS.

Mesh is available in a number of places, but it can be hard to find in local shops. One place I find the stuff is old speakers that I don't need. Going to a junkyard and looking in old cars and taking the mesh from those speakers will yield good small pieces of mesh for cheap, especially if you can get in good with the owner of the junkyard.

There are a number of online dealers out there for it. Most notably is MNPCTech, available here (http://www.mnpctech.com/moddersmesh.html).

Another good source for mesh, and hundreds of other items, is McMaster.com (http://www.mcmaster.com/). Look under perforated materials under the "Raw Materials & Springs" category on the bottom right column.

There are plenty of other sources out there. I'm yet to find any at a local hardware store, but you never know.

If you have any good junk stores (we have one nearby, called Pat's New & Used Surplus Outlet, that is closing shop next month. :( :( ), you can frequently find old speakers or other things that have it that you can cannibalize, that often have other useful parts.

Hope that helps.

what I have done in the past that yields excellent product is buying a wire mesh waste paper basket at an office supply store. You can easily cut it up and it yields a pretty good size sheet of mesh. And it is pretty decent quality.

autobody supply stores sell really durable stuff that ive used to bondo over on rust repairs and things like that. You can bend it easy and its not springy so it will hold the shape well.
