I already have my guts:

Q6600
Asus P5N-D
Geil 2x2GB RAM
500 GB SATA
eVGA 8800GT SC

However as far as my case is concerned, I am debating to scratch build one from aluminum or buy one and strip it down and rebuild it. What I am looking to build is a clean cut (almost think show car), but on scratch building cages, I have no idea and was wondering what all you guys thought? I figure that is going to be the most time consuming part (aside from learning brazing techniques). Is there any threads or info that has been seen on custom building cages?

I say you get a case and take the mobo tray and drive bays out. Use those as the basis for a build, and then build whatever frame and siding you want on the case.
That's what I'd do anyway, but really you should do what you think you could accomplish and well. If you don't think you can accomplish a scratch build, hold off until your skills improve.

I tend to agree. Buy a cheap case and use whatever you need as the core of your new system. You may not even need but a single piece to build off of, and you can still get your custom rig, even though it started with a factory-made center.
