Who needs a dining table when you have a perfectly good desk that happens to have a computer on it. I eat this way all the time. It is most productive. How about you lot? Do you experience the daily joy of eating El Desko Style?

I do but it's usually from a white take out tray from my school's dining hall. To be honest I don't like eating at the desk but it also happens to be the only flat surface in my room that I can pull a chair up to.

I normally eat in my lap since my desk is too messy.... I'll get around to cleaning my desk one day!

When I get home from day shifts, the kids are just getting ready for bed so after a few minutes with them, they go to bed. Then my daily routine is to make something to eat and sit in front of the computer for a few minutes while I eat. Unless my favorite hockey team is playing, then my spot is front of the TV.

I eat at least 9 out of 10 meals made at home at my desk. Multitasking FTW.
And I have a pile of dishes to the side of my desk as evidence. :)

Lets see.
I have, on my desk: three plates, four glasses, and two bowls
a can of pringles
several iced tea cans
a bottle of orangina
two cans of dr. pepper
as well as the usual money, cellphone, mp3 player, cd spindles and so forth.

I never eat at my desk at home. Too many accidental tipping's in the past and that ain't good for the 'lectronics...
At work it is 50/50. Sometimes I am just too busy to get away, sometimes I just have to get out of here or I will go postal...

...and which team would that be?
The SO and I use the TV trays on Hockey nights (almost every night this time of year...). Unless of course we are at the game... Like tonight.

Two slices of Homemade Pizza and a slice of Homemade Banana Bread being washed down by some store bought Silk Soy Milk. Nummy!

...sorry, but that is just sick and wrong... :D
off topic; There is a push by the U.S. dairy association to ban the use of the word milk in non-dairy products.
On topic; My co-worker cooks and eats at his desk. If he steps away for a period of time I will take a picture of his setup. Microwave oven, George Foreman Grill, Hot Pot, right next to his reel to reel, 3 monitors and 12 computers... I cannot stand it. Stinks up the entire computer lab with some pretty pungent odor's.

i never, or very rarely eat while using my pc, i don't like oily mice and keyboards, and with the finish on both of them it really shows.

Some of us are lactose intolerant, and there MUST use the soy alternatives. :P Not as good as real milk, but much less painful.
As for not calling it milk, they dont up here.. it's called "Soy Beverage". :) Maybe it should say "Lactose free milk substitute"?

Lol.. that sounds like a fire hazard. Put up some poly sheeting around his workstation, and seal it off with biohazard tape. :D

There are such things as lactose free milk. At least there is here anyway.

There is here too but compared to Soy or Rice milk, it's nasty crap. I'd seriously drink Rice milk over lactose-free cow's milk.

My favorite team is the Calgary Flames (team themed mod coming soon). Your SO watches with you, that's cool. My wife used to watch with me, but soon decided she likes summer better because she gets her husband back.:D During hockey season before we make plans for anything we check the team schedule to plan around games. My wife actually cheers for whoever Calgary plays in the playoffs, hoping to put Calgary out sooner. The nerve.:D
Who's your team?
dont watch too much hockey...dont follow it either... but i will ALWAYS support my philly flyers

My team: OILERS!
That's right, I'm a Flames hater.
Back to the eating @ the desk discussion..
I try to get away from my desk to eat, since I spend so much time at it anyways. In fact, I go home for lunch pretty much everyday.. I have to, just to keep my sanity sometimes.

Hehe sounds backwards to my house...
The SO is THE hockey Betty. Ask her anything about hockey, she'll know. We are Sharks fans and season ticket holders in section 209 (the loud, obnoxious section). Have been for many many years. We still miss Darryl. Hell quite a few ex sharks are up in Calgary now. Kipper is magnificent! That was a trade the sharks have regretted, but he really needed to be the #1 goalie and he was only backup here (the Sharks have had a history of putting out excellent goalies).
Here's a trivia question; I wear my Colorado Rockies jersey to a few games. Who would I be rooting for?
EDIT: AHHH, Luke! Not an Oilstain fan!?!?! Hehe JK...

Last semester, my engineering maths tutor (Prof. Geoff Brooks) was a major hockey fan and plays it sometimes.

Let me think on that a bit. I'll be back after the game....:D
BTW, I'm sorry for hijacking this thread.
I just finished a chicken quesadilla while I was browsing here during intermission.:)

Back on topic;
The company I work for is looking for new diggs and the GM just announced this morning that there will be NO food in the new labs. All food must be prepared and eaten elsewhere. (maybe he is reading this thread?)
